What's it all about, Alfie? (Air America examination broadens)

The Air America scam revelations are more than a week old, yet the MSM has unilaterally thumbed its collective nose at the story. They want nothing to do with it which is one of the reasons this story is so compelling.

First of all, if you haven't already, you need to get over to
The Radio Equalizer to get the updates and the latest links. The story is taking an interesting, if not predictable, turn as Michelle Malkin points out in her most recent column, Air America and the race hustlers.

This Air America story is illuminating on so many levels, but it's not surprising. It's the same tired old story. Some leftist organization gets caught in a lie or hypocritical situation and then the MSM circles the wagon to defend or totally ignore the situation. In this case, ignore. Rathergate comes to mind.

Is it any surprise they have lost all credibility?

So along comes the New Media to fill in the void. The notable difference between the old and new media is that "we" aren't afraid to criticize our own. Maybe even to a fault!

For instance, when it comes to tightening border security and illegal immigration, it's the New Media that is the most vocal. Likewise, it's the New Media who is most critical of the republican pork-laden spending bills. It can't be said the New Media isn't critical of republicans.

It would be refreshing if the left wing media could be critical of its own, once in awhile, but we understand why they don't. That's why there's a New Media.
