McCain lambasts Rush
Welcome to the readers of The Radio Equalizer. Thanks for stopping by!
Last week Sen. John McCain attempted to kiss up to the conservative base by embracing Jerry Falwell. Conservatives aren't that stupid. We know Sen. John McCain is a leftist in moderate republican clothing. In fact, he's the quintessential "RINO" if there ever was one.
His handlers really need to have a "come to Jesus" meeting with the leftwing republican. If he thinks he can ever win over the conservative base he needs to make nice to Big Talk Radio.
Instead, what does he do? He lambasts Rush and Lou Dobbs and Michael Savage:
“What kind of a country do we want to be?” Mr. McCain asked his audience, walking around in the middle of a horseshoe-shaped table as he proceeded to answer his own question.
He cautioned against ghettoizing immigrants, which he noted has brought about disastrous results in France, and criticized elements in his own party as “nativist” before lambasting the punditry of Rush Limbaugh, Lou Dobbs and Michael Savage for helping to “fuel the problem,” according to two of the sources.
Bad move, Sen. Straight Talker. Yeah, today's republican party is way left of center, but don't underestimate the power of the conservative base. If you ever want the conservative vote, you don't bash Rush and you don't bash Lou Dobbs and you don't bash Savage (even if he is unhinged and impersonal).
McCain doesn't have a chance to get the republican nomination for president. His only chance of further screwing up the nation is to run as an independent by splitting the republican vote, thereby ensuring Hillary's election.
It's pretty obvious that the "Straight Talker" isn't a big fan of free speech. Why else would he have co-authored the McCain-Feingold Bill which limits free speech prior to elections and why else would he be down on Big Talk Radio?
Now, having bashed Rush and subsequently all of his listeners, you can bet Sen. McCain isn't going to have an easy campaign. If he thought Big Talk Radio has been unkind to him in the past, he hasn't seen anything yet!
