The Museum of Science and Industry
When President Bush visited Chicago last week, he toured The Museum of Science and Industry.
I hadn't thought of this in years, but when my dad was 13 or 14 (in 1933 or 1934), he won a trip to Chicago sponsored by the 4-H organization and one of the highlights of his trip was visiting that museum.
Growing up in the small, picturesque, northern Idaho town of Sandpoint, the metropolis of Chicago and seeing that museum made a lifelong impression on my dad.
Dad lived to be 78 and traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe, visiting untold numbers of museums and sites of interest around the world, but he always spoke fondly of his boyhood travels to Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry; which is why I have linked it on my blogroll with some of the other world class museums I have listed.
Be sure to hit the link and take a tour!
