It was 40 years ago today...my, how time flies!

Well, not exactly today, but in early June it will have been 40 years. The X and Y generations may not know that these were the opening words of the title track on this near relic album:

It was forty years ago today
Sgt Pepper taught the band to play

I guess you had to be there!

There's a good retrospective in the online edition of the Wall Street Journal regarding the 40th anniversary (how could that be?) of the Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album...yes, they were called albums back then, and out of touch boomers still may refer to modern day CD's as albums, to the disdainful chagrin of our hip kids.
