Merv Griffin...RIP

The older crowd were big fans of Merv Griffin when I was a kid...way older...like my parent's age. But because I was an incurably inveterate talk show junkie while still in diapers, I too, was one of his fans and life-long admirers. He was one of the good guys...smart, interesting, talented and a brilliant businessman.

He'd been suffering from prostate cancer for awhile and he died yesterday. Here's a good article about his life and times.

Long time associate of Merv Griffin, Pat Sajak has some glowing things to say about one of the legends of television. If you ever followed his life or career or have any interest in success stories, check out his obit. He was a friend of at least one president and one of Donald Trump's toughest business rivals.
