Blast from the past

I was doing some searches of my past posts about how both parties have been racing toward the left. I found this post particularly interesting in light of what's going on today in politics. The post also referred to the highly amusing song and dance piece by the inimitable Charles Durning in his role as governor in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982).
