I'm Embarassed by my Texas Senators
My senators, Senator John Cornyn and Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison voted FOR the pork laden bailout (which is now called a "rescue" because of the odious connotations of the word "bailout.") Shame on them! Shame on ALL of them who took an oath to uphold and defend the U.S. Constitution. This bailout is anti-thetical to the U.S. Constitution!
Shame on them, too, for blaming Wall Street and the lenders for supposedly causing this calamity. Yes, there may have been abuses, but the problem lies squarely and soundly on Congress itself for forcing the lending institutions to make loans to those who with insufficient credit, lest they be accused of racism.
This is so typical. Big Govt creates a problem and then rushes in to "fix" it which only exacerbates the problem so they'll have to "fix" it again; throughout any given ordeal, Big Govt will blame any and everyone for the mess when the real problem lies with them.
Like Ronald Reagan so wisely said, "Govt is not the answer to the problem; Govt IS the problem."
If there was ever a time we needed a Ronald Reagan, it is now.
I can only hope my reasonable U.S. Representative Sam Johnson will rightfully step up to the plate with a "NO" vote tomorrow in the House. You can bet I'll be calling him to urge his non-support of this pork laden bailout, AKA the democrat designed "October Surprise."
