Reason #637 Why I love Dick Cheney

Kudos to Dick Cheney for standing up for conservatism in light of all the left leaning republicans who denigrate Reagan and Rush and conservatives in general for fear of mainstream criticism. This is the very reason Cheney has been so hated by the media and those on the left; he just has never cared what they thought about him.

It's the same with Rush and Sarah Palin and Christian conservatives in general; they (we) are viscerally hated because they (we) really don't care what the left thinks of them (us).

Here's the money quote from Cheney's weekend appearance on Face the Nation:

BOB SCHIEFFER: Rush Limbaugh said the other day the that the party would probably be better off if Colin Powell left and just became a Democrat. Colin Powell said Republicans would be better off if they didn't have Rush Limbaugh speaking for them. Where do you come down?

DICK CHENEY: Well, if I had to choose, in terms of being a Republican, I'd go with Rush Limbaugh I think. My take on it was Colin had already left the party. I didn't know he was still a Republican.

SCHIEFFER: So you think that he's not a Republican?

CHENEY: I just noted he endorsed the Democratic candidate for President this time, Barack Obama. I assume that that's some indication of his loyalty and his interests.

SCHIEFFER: And you said you take Rush Limbaugh over Colin Powell?

CHENEY: I would, politically.

It wasn't reported whether or not Bob Schieffer fell off his chair in disbelief.
