Three "Must Watch" Stories
The "dog days of August" past have generally been bereft of hard hitting news stories...not this August. Important stuff is going down this very minute. Start with Mark Steyn's piece about the 9-11 Commission and their utter failure to connect the dots regarding Mohammed Atta and his ilk who brought down the World Trade Towers. Can you say CYA? This story has gotten wide coverage on the Radio Talk Show circuit; check out the many links Rush has on this story and be sure to follow Curt Weldon wherever he may be speaking. He's the one out front on this. His book, Countdown to Terror, spells out the intelligence problems that may have lead to the terror attacts on the World Trade Center. The silence of the MSM on this subject is witness to the fact that the Clinton Administration is to blame here. If President Bush's fingerprints were on this, the MSM and their left wing politicos would have already concluded impeachment proceedings. Their ongoing silence on so many things is deafening.
"Must watch" story number two is the historic pullout of Israelis from Gaza. Who knows what this could portend? In my opinion this is a very unfortunate move which will do nothing to appease the "Palestinians," because there is no appeasing them. Slowly they plan to inch Israel into the Sea. Evacuation has officially begun.
The third important story deserving of your attention is the Iran nuclear problem. The nuclear weapons facilities in Iran pose a much greater threat because they are underground and far more difficult to take out than the Iraq facility Israel took out in 1981. Since there are 9 underground facilities, it is not likely that the Israeli Air Force would be able to obliterate these facilities without the help of the United States. Check out the CNS piece regarding the possible consequences of such a strike.
