Bible Belt Residents Most Charitable in Country
It shouldn't be all that surprising, but stats show that Bible Belt states are the most charitable in the country. Most Bible believing folks believe that we should take care of each other while secular folk are more apt to believe that government should take care of those in need.
Think about it. Who came to the aid of Katrina and Rita victims quicker? Big government or the independent Christian Organizations across the fruited plane? Red Cross is right up there, as well, but they, like vast governmental bureaucracies, because of their size, are often inefficient.
If I were a person, or group, in need, I would much rather be in the so-called, and much maligned, "Bible Belt" than some religiously "unfriendly" community which may be found in some "enlightened" secular community.
