Carnival of Homeschooling
It's not too late to check out the Carnival of Homeschooling over at The Common Room. A great bunch of links have been assembled in addition to the Homeschool Blogroll! Be sure to check them out!
The phenomenon of Home Schooling is growing exponentially for a whole host of reasons. The explosion of the internet is a mind boggling tool which just wasn't available to those of us who "homeschooled before it was cool" back in the '80's. We are so fortunate to have so many resources available to us now, in an instant.
The main cause of Home Schooling's growing appeal is the continual and rapid spiral of government schools into a destructively dysfunctional abyss. More and more parents are realizing the sooner they can remove their kids from that negative learning atmosphere, the better off everyone will be.
The growth of Home Schooling is slowly having a positive effect on education across the board. As our kids succeed in colleges and business and their personal lives, the comparison between public and home education becomes ever more stark.
It's all comes back to competition. Government schools simply cannot compete with Home Schools and we're are succeeding for pennies on the dollar in comparison to what is spent per student per year by the government (that's you and me, folks).
But the key advantage in the successful home school is the parental love the teacher has for the student and the innate desire for the student to succeed in every aspect of life. That essential characteristic simply isn't found in government schools.
Head on over there and see what's going on!
