Has the Left Won?
Talking about our failed energy policy, Mark Levin, said today on his talk show that the "left has won." Sadly, I agree. Disenchanted conservatives across the fruited plain have been asking themselves for quite some time now, just what the hell is going on in the republican party? Why is there zero leadership and why do leftist policies of the last 30 years prevail when republicans are in the majority?
Once again we heard the president opine that we are "addicted to oil" and there needs to be a "probe." What nonsense! He knows better. It's a commodity, like food, not a drug (but speaking of drugs and outrageous profit taking, maybe we should probe "Big Pharma," but I digress...).
Republican Congressional leaders were showing their democrat tendencies today too, seeking probes and pointing fingers at "Big Oil." What a disgrace!
How could anyone conclude anything other than the left has won?
This is what happens when one party swerves so far to the left that it leaves a centrist void. When republicans should be seeking favor with the conservatives who put them in office, by moving to the right, they are rushing to the left almost as quickly as the dems have. The republicans are already at the point of being left of center when it comes to spending, border control, illegal immigration, ever expanding government, and energy policy. Ronaldus Magnus is spinning in his grave!
Conservatives were delighted when the dems cozied up to the Michael Moore's, Algore's and Al Franken's of the world; after all, we reasoned, that only makes it easier to romance the more conservative dems away from their far left leaning party and make republicans out of them. Instead, the republicans have romanced them by becoming more like them while flipping off the conservatives. Wonder if they've thought this all the way out?
