Rush's Settlement
I was listening to a tape delay broadcast of Hannity when ABC News (almost happily) announced that Rush had been arrested on drug charges...details at the bottom of the hour. It didn't quite happen that way. No perp walk, no hand cuffs; ok the libs may have gotten a mug shot, but he was smiling. Good pic, too!
Go to DRUDGE for the press release.
Here's my take: This is a face saving deal for the Florida Prosecuting Attorney after a years long investigation that came up with nothing, zero, nada. Limbaugh agreed to pay $30,000.00 to help pay for the investigation. Huh? Quite frankly I don't understand the terms of the agreement which will be signed on Monday, after which we'll hear much more. Mark Levin promises to fill in some details on Monday.
The bottom line is Rush is not guilty after what must be an embarrassing defeat for the State Attorney. And instead of throwing out the case he had to come up with what amounts to a slap on the wrist for not having anything that could be found by the prosecutor.
In other words, "we can't find anything but you better not do this again and we're going to fine you $3ooo.oo today and $30,000.00 to help with the investigation and $30.00/month just to show you who's in charge. And after you do as we demand, we'll expunge the sole charge of doctor shopping after 18 months, if you don't get in trouble with the law between now and then."
In other words, not guilty! Case closed!
