Happy Texas Independence Day

Today is Texas Independence Day and it used to be a big deal here. It may still be in some of the historical sites of interest, but there was barely a mention of it in the media. Haven't heard anything official but there's this nagging feeling it might have something to do with offending the multitude of illegal aliens who now call Texas casa...er, home.
