Tainted China food update: Don't eat the ginger!
So what's going on with Chinese food imports. Hardly a week goes by that we don't hear of a new food product being scrutinized as something to beware of or to avoid altogether. The latest food to avoid, according to the USFDA is fresh ginger.
When it rains, it pours, or as the Chinese would say, "當下雨它傾吐." I wonder if they're learning what that means over there.
Call me a "Crunchy Conservatives", but wouldn't it be better if we tried to buy food that was grown as close to home as possible? If for no other reason than to support nearby farmers. When you take into consideration the disgustingly unsanitary conditions of various countries it only makes sense to buy homegrown whenever possible.
