It's Rush Week!

It's been 20 unprecedented years that El Rushbo has graced the AM airwaves, much to the chagrin of Big Media.

Who among Maha Rushie's dittoheads don't remember where they were and what they were doing the first time they heard the "most dangerous man" in America. Me? I was with my family driving back to Dallas on I-30 on the way back from Branson, MO...it must have been a Little Rock station because he hadn't yet landed on the Dallas airwaves.

I can't remember the month and year when KLIF started airing Rush here in Dallas, but it had to be in the early '90's. It didn't take very long before WBAP's Tyler Cox, (a friend of Rush) arranged for the EIB to move to the "Big BAP" where Rush has aired ever since.

Rush has one of the most loyal audiences in the business. Maybe because we (conservatives) had no national icon who actually thought as we did prior to his prominence. Not only did he give us someone with which to identify, he did so with parodies and fake ads that characterized the absurdity of the left by being absurd. No one had ever done that on a national scale. Who could have ever thought politics would be so uproariously fun?

From day one I've been one of Rush's greatest fans. He introduced us to his family and we loved them just as we love Rush; we're like family after all. We mourned the death of his Dad, Rush H. Limbaugh, II, early on in Rush's national career. We loved to hear about his mom, Millie and the "Blue-haired Bridge Gang" who got together each week to play cards. We were saddened when we learned of Millie's cancer and her subsequent death. We cherished the on air conversations with the Limbaugh Patriarch, Rush Limbaugh, Sr. on his 100th birthday. We got to know David Limbaugh via his books, his weekly columns and guest appearances on TV. It was David who generously added "Isn't It Rich" to his blogroll at his website when this blog was in its infancy. It was my first big link.

We were in a quandary when Rush started sounding different and mispronouncing words some years ago weeks before we learned he had totally lost his hearing and could no longer hear himself speak. No doubt the prayers of millions went out for Rush as he dealt with what could have been a career stopper.

We ached for Rush when he told us he had become dependent on pain killers and announced he would be absent for a month or so while he checked into a drug rehabilitation center in Arizona. Again we gave him our support and offered up heartfelt prayers.

It's been a great 20 years and I've been with Rush through it all...Rush has been a tremendous role model and mentor. He never gives up and he has triumphed over everything that has been tossed his way which would have been the demise of lessor men.

Rush is a winner. He was born to host and we were born to listen.

You can love him or hate him, but if you ignore him, you do so at your own risk!

Thank you Rush, for all that you do and for all you've done. We love you and may God continue to bless you!

Obama's Stealth Socialism

Hat tip to The Mark Levin Show for bringing this MUST READ ARTICLE from today's editorial page of the Investor's Business Daily to my attention.

The editorial is titled, Barack Obama's Stealth Socialism. Here are a couple of paragraphs:

Election '08: Before friendly audiences, Barack Obama speaks passionately about something called "economic justice." He uses the term obliquely, though, speaking in code — socialist code.

During his NAACP speech earlier this month, Sen. Obama repeated the term at least four times. "I've been working my entire adult life to help build an America where economic justice is being served," he said at the group's 99th annual convention in Cincinnati.

And as president, "we'll ensure that economic justice is served," he asserted. "That's what this election is about." Obama never spelled out the meaning of the term, but he didn't have to. His audience knew what he meant, judging from its thumping approval.

It's the rest of the public that remains in the dark, which is why we're launching this special educational series.

"Economic justice" simply means punishing the successful and redistributing their wealth by government fiat. It's a euphemism for socialism

This is an important piece...PLEASE read the whole thing!!

Keep your ears open to that phrase; "economic justice." That's the change Obama and the rest of the leftists want. It's nothing more than Marxism; government in control of everything accompanied by confiscatory taxation.

Here's an excellent commentary on Obamaspeak and his would-be stealthiness. Check it out!

Secret of Stonehenge solved?

This is an amazing video about Wally Wallington, a retired construction worker who may have figured out how the ancients moved huge stones without modern equipment. It's a fascinating 6 minute video you'll probably want to pass on to your email buds.

The New and Improved, Redesigned Obama Presidential Seal

Thanks to the "on top of all things" folks at Lucianne.com we are privy to the newly designed pre-presidential seal brought forth by the Obama campaign.

SO MUCH better than the last one! (There seems to be a problem linking to the infamous Obama would be presidential seal which was scattered about the ethosphere a couple of weeks ago...all you need to do is Google images of the "obama presidential seal"....go there and see whether or not the above seal is much more appropriate.

This weeks episode of Uncle Jay Explains The News is bound to become a classic...better not miss it! Really...this guy's good!

Leftist Insensitivity of the Day

Yup...it's on the upcoming New Yorker Magazine cover. Jonathan Martin writes about it at Politico.com.

My question is, will Obama pronounce a Fatwa over this?

Sorry folks; I just call 'em like I see 'em.

You didn't hear it here first, but John McCain has to be the luckiest politician ever to have made it this far in a presidential campaign. No wonder Bill Clinton is beside himself!

XPI Announces Universal 2-Step Rev-Limiter

DALLAS (July 9, 2008) – eXtreme Performance & Innovation (XPI), an
automotive electronics design company, today announced its latest product,
the UniRev, a universal, multi-coil, 2-step rev-limiter that is compatible
with most inductive ignitions. The UniRev is equipped with two
independent rev-limiters to safely limit engine speed by suppressing spark
on alternating cylinders. The UniRev promotes more consistent launches
and helps eliminate turbo lag.

Unlike competing products that rely on pills or dials, the UniRev uses two
control wires to command each rev-limiter: one wire to set the rev-limiter
and another to activate the 2-step. Rev the engine to the desired RPM and
set the UniRev, then activate when ready to launch. With the ability to
change the rev-limiter on the fly, the UniRev is ideal for racing from a
“dig” or from a “roll.”

The UniRev also has a built-in kill switch to help protect against theft.
Installation can be completed in less than an hour on most vehicles. MSRP
is $249.95.

The UniRev is now available at HPP Racing of Lewisville, Texas. HPP
Racing is Dallas' premier late model high-performance shop. Contact HPP
Racing at 972-395-9844 or http://www.hppmotorsports.com/.

For more information, contact XPI at www.xpinnovation.net or P.O. Box

A New Blog Worthy of Your Attention and Linkage

A very good friend of mine, whom I've often linked to, has decided to begin a blog titled Looking for Truthtellers. You may already know of him as the voice of the Born To Win syndicated radio program which is linked on the right hand side of this blog.

Ron Dart, the author of this new blog got into it in order to separate himself from his BornToWin non-profit ministry website.

I've known Ron for more than 35 years. He was the Vice-Chancellor of my Alma mater and one of the best teachers I've ever had. Ron's specialty is the Bible and although he's no longer in the classroom, he reaches a much larger audience via his syndicated Born To Win program, which is always linked on the right hand side of this blog.

Okay, I'm a bit prejudiced...but Ron is the real deal and he's a keen observer of current events with a rare insight into the whys and wherefore's of what's going on in the world.

Do yourselves a favor and earmark his site...he's right up there with Mark Steyn, Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams, but hasn't yet achieved the notoriety. Some day he will.

Be sure to check out his blog on a regular basis.

Blog on, Ron!

Quote of the Day

From our buddy, Mark Levin: (paraphrased)

Whenever you drive up to the pump in disgust you need to be thinking, Nancy Pelosi!!!
I could only add this: You also need to be thinking Harry Reid and all of the no drill democrats on Capitol Hill. It is they and others like them who are beholden to the whacked out environmental extremists who are responsible for the jacked up gas prices.

Don't ever forget who is standing in the way of the nation's progress...it has been and it always will be regressive "progressives."

"If we could only criminalize those damn Christians"

Look what the U.N. is up to.

Dozens of nations dominated by Islam are pressing the United Nations to adopt an anti-"defamation" plan that would make Christians criminals under international law, according to a United States organization that has launched a campaign to defend freedom of religion worldwide.

"Around the world, Christians are being increasingly targeted, and even persecuted, for their religious beliefs. Now, one of the largest organizations in the United Nations is pushing to make a bad situation even worse by promoting anti-Christian bigotry," the American Center for Law & Justice said yesterday in announcing its petition drive.
Isn't that special? Check out the rest of the article.

How much do Americans spend on the U.N. again? And why is it we allow them free and easy access to our country?

Congress frets as approval ratings plummet (Updated)

According to a piece at Yahoo! News, Congress' approval rating has reached a new low of 12%. 12%? How could it possibly be that high?

Those 12 per centers must make up the deaf, dumb and blind constituency.

Texas Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R) whined,
"Not only does Congress have an approval rating below bubonic plague and head lice, I saw a recent poll that as many as 40 percent of people still believe that Congress is in Republican hands, I wish we could get a little accuracy out there about who is in charge – and let those ratings fall where they may."
Congressman, if the republicans would collectively do battle with the NO DRILL DEMS and boldly expose the destructive agenda of the leftists, maybe Americans would take notice of you and your "go along to get along party."

Do something besides whine about how stupid we are for not noticing that the republicans are in the minority.

The only ones visably engaging the leftists are people like Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and others in Talk Radio and the Blogosphere...and, by the way, what are you doing about those on the left who wish to silence them via the so-called "Fairness Doctrine ?"

Congress should be grateful for that 12%. It's not going to get any higher until they begin to employ some common sense starting here and now to ensure energy independence by drilling now wherever there's oil. They could start by allowing exploration in ANWR and simultaneously off our coastlines.

UPDATE: THIS JUST IN...According to Rasmussen Reports™ the approval rate is now at 9%! It looks to me like more of the deaf, dumb and blind constituency is beginning to see the light.

Yellowcake? WHAT Yellowcake?

What should be the story of the year is getting little notice by the MSM, but then it's totally antithetical to their "Bush lied, people died" agenda, so we aren't really aren't surprised by the non reporting. IBD Editorials has a piece on it. Here's part of it:
It's a little known fact that, after invading Iraq in 2003, the U.S. found massive amounts of uranium yellowcake, the stuff that can be refined into nuclear weapons or nuclear fuel, at a facility in Tuwaitha outside of Baghdad.

In recent weeks, the U.S. secretly has helped the Iraqi government ship it all to Canada, where it was bought by a Canadian company for further processing into nuclear fuel — thus keeping it from potential use by terrorists or unsavory regimes in the region.

This has been virtually ignored by the mainstream media. Yet, as the AP reported, this marks a "significant step toward closing the books on Saddam's nuclear legacy."

Seems to us this should be big news.

After all, much of the early opposition to the war in Iraq involved claims that President Bush "lied" about weapons of mass destruction and that Saddam posed little if any nuclear threat to the U.S.

This more or less proves Saddam in 2003 had a program on hold for building WMD and that he planned to boot it up again soon.

This is clear, since Saddam acquired most of his uranium before 1991, but still had it in 2003, when invading U.S. troops found the stuff. (The International Atomic Energy Agency seems to have known about the yellowcake in the 1990s, but did nothing to force Saddam to get rid of it. It's duplicating its error today with Iran and North Korea).

That means Saddam held onto it for more than a decade. Why? He hoped to wait out U.N. sanctions on Iraq and start his WMD program anew. This would seem to vindicate Bush's decision to invade.
Lessor presidents seeking their own validation would be front and center declaring, "See, I'll told you so..." Alas, President Bush and his administration is above all that...maybe to a fault.

Uncle Jay Explains Independents Day

Don't miss today's installment wherein Uncle Jay Explains Independents Day.

Friday, July 04, 2008

Speaking of Independence...Energy Independence, that is

There are two kinds of people in this country; those who want to drill in ANWR and those who don't. Those who don't, claim drilling in ANWR would defile the pristine wilderness and destroy untold wildlife. John McClain even likens ANWR to the Grand Canyon and of course no one would consider drilling there.

We seldom see photos of ANWR nor have the proponents of drilling there done their part to sell Americans on the idea of oil exploration in ANWR.

I received the following photos in an email which I hope gets wide circulation in this country. These pics should be getting national attention so people can see what ANWR looks like and how very little land would actually be used in the exploration process.

Please scroll down:

The area to be explored in ANWR is quite close to Prudhoe Bay which has proven to be quite clean and unobtrusive to the surrounding environs.

This is a photo of the frozen ANWR tundra in winter. Not exactly the Grand Canyon! The following 3 pics show the tundra in the summer.

Here's a Google Earth shot of the Prudhoe Bay/ANWR exploration areas.

This is a shot of a well in the Prudhoe Bay area. Doesn't seem to be a scarsity of wildlife, does there.

The same or similar site in winter.

Maybe Big Oil has been able to teach the otherwise bored bears to make inspections along the oil pipelines. Either that or Big Oil and Big Wildlife are getting along famously together. I'm pretty sure it's the latter.

Great pics aren't they.

There are two kinds of people in this country; those who are rational and wish to see us continue to function and prosper and those who are irrational and wish to see us deprived of energy.

The "no drill democrats" will be the ruination of this country and it's happening quickly right before our very eyes. Sadly, there are very few politicians on the right side of the isle who are boldly standing up in opposition to them.

Why, you ask, would Big Govt want to deprive us of an ongoing supply of abundant energy? That's easy. So they can have an even bigger govt to control and regulate our lives. They create any given problem (in this case, an energy shortage) so they can "solve" the problem with even more damaging repercutions. For instance, Obama promises to impose more taxes on those who produce energy...like that will produce more energy and lower prices at the pump. In turn, govt educated minions will turn to Big Govt for handouts in order to afford the higher energy costs...after all, they've been indoctrinated to believe that Big Govt is the solution to all of our problems.

It may even be more sinister. If govt regulations and confiscatory taxation makes it impossible for Big Oil, Big Airline, Big Health Care, Big Auto or Big Anything to do business, then Big Govt may "have to step in" to save the country. Unless Americans stand up to those who are destroying our economy, you can very well expect to see the "nationalization" (read Govt takeover) of private industry one industry at a time.

If Americans don't come together in some massive movement soon to demand that deadbeat politicians lift drilling restrictions, then life in America as we know it is going to change big time...but then that's what the left wants, isn't it...change.

Independence Day 2008

Happy Independence Day!

It's more than the 4th of July; it's a day to reflect and remember how we, as a nation came to be and the high price that was paid by so many. In fact, many continue to be be willing to pay that high price for liberty. Among the many places you can visit online today to commemorate this day is a site called A Soldier’s Mind, worthy to be a starting point if you have a list of essential Independence Day reading.

Did freedom just happen in this country? More importantly, how can we make sure we can keep our freedom? Are we still the home of the brave and land of the free? We don't hear much about liberty from the politicians these days. Why is that? Could it even be possible some Americans don't think independence is a good thing?

My friend Ron Dart has an Independence Day program titled, Beacon of Freedom. It's a good one. You can hear it by clicking on the Born To Win icon on the right side of this blog. I think you'll like it.

Ron points out that God is the author of liberty and it is the calling of our country to shine that light of liberty for all the world to see. It's all about freedom! If it's God that wants us to be free and immersed in liberty, who is it that would wish the opposite for our country? It's something to think about.
