Did U.S. give Saddam WMDs

How long will the dilemma linger? We've been hearing for years now that "there were no WMD's" and "Bush lied and people died" while at the same time, from the same people,the charge was continually being made that the U.S. gave Saddam WMDs. Which was it?

Okay, remember when Russia was losing their war with Afghanistan? At that time Saddam Hussein was one of our allies and as the story goes, we supplied him with chemical weapons (of Mass Destruction.)

Saddam was never one of our "Buds," he was just the enemy of our enemy, which made him our "friend" in military and diplomatic parlance.

Ergo, if we supplied WMD's to the madman, Saddam, wasn't it incumbent upon us to flesh them out and retrieve and/or destroy them?

It peeves me that President Bush never confronted the leftists by putting this matter right back in their faces. No, in an effort to create a new tone, President Bush conceded the matter that there were no WMD's after all, when, in fact, there were.

It's just one of the reasons President Bush lost the conservatives along the way, lo, these past 6 or so years.

Would that he had stood up to the screeching left and upheld the tenants of conservatism instead of graciously paving the way to unprecedented national socialism which now threatens our nation as never before.
