Isn't It Rich

"He who shall introduce into public affairs the principles of primitive Christianity will change the face of the world." Benjamin Franklin

Here's something to keep your eye on...

It was bound to come to this sooner or later, but according to this WND piece many Christian families are being encouraged to opt out of government education en masse.

I guess it's never too late, but we refused to subject our kids to government education more than 20 years ago. Yup! They were home schooled before home schooling was cool. In fact, it was even against the law in some states.

I can only comment to this latest movement by saying, what the hell took so long?

This story is worthy of your watchful eye for several reasons; the government school system can't handle competition, because they can't compete with any other educating body. Private schools and home schools, in general, greatly excel in educating children.

Secondly, the govt schools need as many kids in the class room on any given day to be able to collect federal funding. Fewer kids; less money.

Do you think govt schools and the influential teacher's unions (who care not a wit about the education of our youngsters) are going to sit back and allow parents to withdraw their children out of govt schools which would result in reduced funding?

To complicate the plight of govt schools is the fact that home schooled children do better on SAT's, do better in college (generally speaking, of course,) and maybe most importantly, aren't subject to govt indoctrination and revisionist history. That's right; home schooled kids, more often than not actually learn about the real history of America and learn that our founding fathers were God fearing men and women who put their lives on the line so that we might be free from intrusive government.

Imagine a life free from intrusive government!

Is it any wonder Big Govt demands control of our schools? How could they have superseded our constitution as far back as FDR without control of academia.

Indeed, what has taken right of center, and Christian parents so long in coming to the realization that the last place their children should be indoctrinated, er, educated, is in the govt schools?

What's Big Govt to do if people yank their kiddos en masse out of the public schools?

What they will do, maybe sooner than later, is what they are doing in Germany, where home schooling is becoming, or has become, illegal and parents are labeled criminals and or mentally unstable if they insist on home schooling their children. Think it can't happen here? Then go to the above linked article and scroll down to the links of previous articles. You may be surprised just how threatened govt is by home education.

If you have children or grandchildren or any interest whatsoever in the quality of education for our next generation, you need to keep an eye on the future of home schooling in this country. It's going to become more and more popular with parents and grandparents and less and less popular with Big Govt.
