Reagan Rails Against National Health Care

Thank you's are very much in order to the inimitable Mark Levin for airing this most prescient of speeches by Ronaldus Magnus given in 1961. Reagan boldly spoke of the dangers of socialism; how it destroys the economy and steals us of liberty and choice. If we would have only paid attention to him back then. Listen up...

How About a Real Bipartisan Stimulus Bill?

While the Dems put the lipstick on the largest porcine spending bill ever (and by the way, did anyone mention that so far it is totally partisan? That's right; the dems own this porker lock, stock and barrel as the House republicans ALL voted against it) there is a genuine bipartisan stimulus program emerging courtesy of the inimitable Maha Rushie:
Fifty-three percent of American voters voted for Barack Obama; 46% voted for John McCain, and 1% voted for wackos. Give that 1% to President Obama. Let's say the vote was 54% to 46%. As a way to bring the country together and at the same time determine the most effective way to deal with recessions, under the Obama-Limbaugh Stimulus Plan of 2009: 54% of the $900 billion -- $486 billion -- will be spent on infrastructure and pork as defined by Mr. Obama and the Democrats; 46% -- $414 billion -- will be directed toward tax cuts, as determined by me.

Then we compare. We see which stimulus actually works. This is bipartisanship! It would satisfy the American people's wishes, as polls currently note; and it would also serve as a measurable test as to which approach best stimulates job growth.

I say, cut the U.S. corporate tax rate -- at 35%, among the highest of all industrialized nations -- in half. Suspend the capital gains tax for a year to incentivize new investment, after which it would be reimposed at 10%. Then get out of the way! Once Wall Street starts ticking up 500 points a day, the rest of the private sector will follow. There's no reason to tell the American people their future is bleak. There's no reason, as the administration is doing, to depress their hopes. There's no reason to insist that recovery can't happen quickly, because it can.
Isn't bipartisanship what we all aspire to? We've been told by politicos and media types for years now, that Americans demand bipartisanship. Well, maybe here's a real chance for Obama and the Dems to put our money where their mouth is for a change.

Major KUDOS to the House Republicans and the 11 Dems who voted No!

The democrat majority was victorious today in passing Obama's massive spending bill but it was a hollow victory to be sure. Not one republican voted for it! What you will not hear reported is that 11 dems voted against the bill as well.

You can rightly say that the vote against the bill was bi-partisan, but the vote for the corpulent spending bill was purely partisan, and we all know how wonderful bi-partisanship is, don't we.

The House Dems now own this bill!

It's not likely that the republicans in the Senate will stand up to the left in unanimity, but it would be a beautiful thing to have zero republicans vote in favor of this porcine bill and let the dems have absolute total ownership. They don't need any republican votes for this to pass, so why the fuss over republicans signing the bill?

The dems don't want ownership because they know it won't do anything to stimulate the economy; quite the opposite is true and they want to be able to spread the blame.

Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Ga. Apologizes

Yesterday Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Ga. made some derogatory comments about Sean and Rush and Talk Radio in general. It caused a major brou ha ha in Talk Radio Land and the good Representative has humbly apologized for his inadvertent comments to the Politico.

Rep. Gingrey made the talk show rounds today and he went far beyond the usual Washingtonian apology; "I'm sorry if anyone was offended by anything I may have said," which is no apology at all. Gingrey spoke from his heart and sincerely apologized for his comments.

His apology, of course was readily accepted by the above mentioned principles and it's safe to assume that Talk Radio Land eagerly accepted his concession as well. A win-win situation!

Dems Want Rush to Fail

In a typical fit of intolerance the dems have launched an online petition against Rush Limbaugh because he said last week that he wanted Obama to fail. Huh? You mean those of us who abhor left wing, Soviet style, central planning must now hope that the president succeeds in changing the entire fabric of our socio-economic republic with his leftist agenda? I don't think so!

Why is it acceptable, no, mandatory, for the leftists to do everything in their power to cause their political opponents to fail, but we dare not utter our hope that President Obama will fail in his attempt to co-opt the free enterprise (such that it is) system?

This is nothing more than an attempt to threaten and intimidate the squishy republicans who run to the other side of the isle at the mere hint of nonacceptance.

Just as the dems want Rush to fail, conservatives want the left to fail. Not only do conservatives want the left to fail, we also want the squishy republicans to fail.

They failed us in the last election and they are failing us right now. If they continue to side with the left then we can only hope they fail in their efforts to appease and accommodate the left for whom they are more anxious to please than their conservative base.

As for me and my household, like Rush, we hope Obama and those who side with him, will fail bigtime in their implementation of socialism.

But like Rush always says, we support President Obama; we just don't support his policies;>)

We're ALL Rush Limbaughs now!!

The headline reads:
House GOP member to Rush: Back off
That's the position of Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Ga.

When a republican congressman takes that position against Rush, I take it to mean that he wants me to "back off" as well. What Rep. Gingrey fails to realize is that there are literally millions and millions of us out here who are physically and emotionally sickened by the capitulation of weak willed republicans who care more about getting along with democrats than those who once made up their base. I say "once made up their base" because conservatives have had it with politicians like Rep. Gingrey who attempt to marginalize Rush, the powerful Voice of Conservatism for 20 years, and consequently, we conservatives. We're no longer the base to which republicans look; they seem to be looking to democrats as their base.

Where are the towering republicans with the cahones to stand up to Pelosi and Reid? Rush stands up to them daily and illuminates their absolutely absurd agenda with parody and clever humor. Republicans should be honoring him.

Screw with Rush at your own peril, elected republicans. His army far exceeds yours!

"Can't We All Just Get Along?"

The plea immortalized by Rodney King seems to apply as much now as ever. Unfortunately, we can only all "get along" if the rest of us agree with President Obama and his left wing constituency. But then it's almost always been that way. It's always the conservatives who must get along with the leftists; never vice versa. Interesting, isn't it?

Now that the president has picked a fight with Rush Limbaugh, he apparently has attempted to throw down the gauntlet to faint hearted republicans (who wet themselves in an effort to please and appease those on the left side of the isle) by intimidating Washington RINO's into disregarding the Maha Rushie.

This wasn't one of Obama's swiftest moves. He should have sought counsel from the feckless Harry Reid, or any other of the hapless left who are daily exposed on Limbaugh's wildly popular radio show.

Obama should know better than to elevate ANY of his ideological adversaries by even mentioning them by name. Didn't he learn anything by continually naming Sean Hannity
throughout the campaign? Now, Hannity is able to capitalize on Obama's repeated dishonorable mentions of his name at the opening of his radio show every day. It's belittling for a president, the most powerful man in the world, to act threatened by a talk show host, or any of his critics, for that matter. I'm sure Rush is loving the mega-attention and it will most certainly boost his ratings.

Remember when the newly elected Bill Clinton called the St. Louis radio station (which carries Rush's show) from aboard Air Force One and said that Rush had 3 hours to be critical of him (Clinton) as if the most powerful man in the world was defenseless against Rush. Clinton said there was no "truth detector" (or words to that effect) to intervene on his (Clinton's) behalf. He empowered Rush by stating such a fallacious comment. From that time on, Rush states daily that he IS the truth detector! I don't think Clinton mentioned Rush much after that. Obama would do well to learn that lesson.

Likewise, if Obama continues to make war against Rush, it will only boost Rush's ratings and make Obama look silly. O' sure, Obama and the dems have the full force and power of Big Govt behind them and they may, in fact, be able to silence their critics, but that too, will only make them look small in the eyes of thinking Americans. After all, if they have to silence their critics, how strong is their ideology?

Regardless, if you're not listening to Rush, you're missing out on great radio and great political discourse; and it's only going to get better!

Happy Abortion Day!

I didn't get much opportunity to spend time on the key board today because of that pesky day job, but my blogging buddy Mike, over at Let's Think About That works in advertising and his basic responsibility is to hang around the agency and wait for the awards to pour in. So he had ample time to give some thought about this tragic day in American History.

His post is titled, Happy Abortion Day! and it deserves your attention. Here are a couple of paragraphs:
Today, January 22, is the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Let’s all celebrate the bloody deaths of 49, 551,703 (and counting) unborn children since 1973!

Oh, I know what you're thinking.

This is going to be a sanctimonious, sarcastic rant about the evils of abortion from another Bible-thumping wacko.

Well, relax. Because I’m like you: just a guy who grew up assuming abortion ought to be as legal and available as possible because, heck, if I ever got into a predicament, I’d want an easy out. I’m young, I reasoned. I want to have some fun with the ladies minus any worries. Plus, like you, I grew up watching all those weird people on TV waving their protest signs in front of abortion clinics. Freaks. Look at them.

Then three things happened. I grew up. I started using my brain. And one day, my lovely wife told me she was pregnant. This was great news. We wanted a baby. Life was good.

Life. That’s a stubborn word.

For me, the prospect of being a Dad made me think, and I mean really think, about some heady things, among them life, death, God, the future, the afterlife. Whoops, sorry. I said the ‘L’ word twice. And the ‘G’ word too. How uncomfortable. Anyway, it wasn’t just the bulge of my wife’s belly that got me thinking on a deeper level about the rightness or wrongness of abortion. There were the numerous sonograms with the thump, thump, thump of my daughter’s beating heart. And the fuzzy grey photos of her sucking her thumb in the womb. What I found especially moving was the occasional little arm or leg shifting around in plain sight when I looked at my wife’s protruding stomach. When I put my hand on my wife’s tummy, it sometimes felt like I was shaking hands with my soon-to-be first daughter.

I had to admit, that thing in there wasn’t a just blob of tissue. It wasn’t just a fetus. It was my child. The thought of some anonymous doctor in a non-descript office reaching in and puncturing my daughter’s skull with a sharp pair of scissors, well, that thought became unacceptable to say the least.
There's more at Mike's blog...go there!

Obama's First Stimulus Program

It's difficult to come up with an explanation why so many upstanding environmentalists would want to turn the Washington Mall into a common landfill during and after Obama's inauguration, but I think I've come up with a reasonable (reasonable, i.e. to Obama and his followers) explanation why they desired to trash it.

It's very possible that everyone there was on the same wavelength thinking that the massive clean-up would be the very first stimulus package whereby Obama would be able to hire hundreds, if not thousands, of additional govt workers to clean up this gargantuan mess. Thus creating more jobs and stimulating the economy. This may have even spawned greater opportunities for Obama's followers. They could be encouraged to toss trash wherever they may be; the more trash that could be thrown out on the countryside, the more jobs that could be created and very little training would even be necessary.

This has the potential of being a massive stimulus package creating hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of jobs. This wouldn't affect normal municipal sanitation workers because there are still many people who would use proper trash recepticles. At least for now.

The new "Spread the Filth to Redistribute the Wealth" plan could potentially be the crowning jewel of the many stimulus programs to come and it could begin at the drop of a hat or anything else for that matter.

Just think of it! The trashing of America could be a beautiful thing.

Good News for Ramos & Compean

On his last full day of being president, George W. Bush commuted the sentences of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. One might say, "finally!" or "what took so long?" but that might be looking a gift horse in the mouth. Many feared he would return to Texas without regard for these men.

This commutation is answered prayer for the millions of people who have been following this story via WND and devoted talk show hosts who relentlessly covered this story which never really made sense. The more is was explained by those supposedly knowledgeable of the case, the more the facts didn't add up.

These guys and their families have had to go through hell these past two years; hopefully they can regroup and get their lives back.

Most reading this will be familiar with the case, but I would encourage you to go to the above link at WND and scroll down after the article to see the many links of previous stories covering this tragic incident.

Thank God this ordeal will soon be over.

My New Favorite Blog

My daughter introduced me to Let's Think About That a couple of weeks ago. Mike, the blogs progenitor is witty, prescient and right thinking and puts it out there for all to see as well he should.

Here's one of his posts from today and I hope he doesn't mind me publishing it here. It's titled, "My Obama Plate":
This morning I got a surprise in my mailbox: an official Obama victory plate. I even got a certificate of authenticity.

Many thanks to my good buddy Wes for sending the official plate to me. I will display it in my office proudly. Because nothing says "I belong to a cult" or "I'm one of the sheep" like an official Obama plate.

On second thought, maybe I shouldn't keep the official plate in my office. What if one of the janitors steals the official plate? I'm sure they are among Obama's more enthusiastic supporters, since they will be receiving Obama's paltry bribes ("tax cuts" as Obama calls them) and I am one of "the rich".

It's hard to see, but written near the bottom of Obama's photo are the words "Change Has Come".

That's an understatement.
Be sure to go to his blog to get a glimpse of the plate and be sure to do some scrolling down to see his other worthy posts.

This guy's good!

UPDATE: Sarkozy, Merkel, Blair call for "New World Order"

Apparently, calls for a "New World Order" are all the rage now. The latest call is from Sarkozy, Merkel and Blair:
PARIS – The head of Europe's biggest economy said Thursday that world leaders should be looking at the massive U.S. deficit and other economic imbalances, not just problems caused by financial markets, as they debate a new global order.

Speaking at a conference in Paris on the future of capitalism, German Chancellor Angela Merkel singled out the American budget deficit and China's current account surplus — the difference between exports and imports — as problems upsetting the global economy.

"We would be making an error if we were content to look solely at financial markets," she said.

She deplored huge debts that governments are accumulating to spend their way out of the present crisis. But she said she recognized, for the moment, that "there is no other possibility."
Once again, apologies are in order to the conspiracy buffs who've been advising us for more than a generation this was coming.

WHAT New World Order?

Okay, it's time we apologize to the conspiracy theorists who have been warning us of the coming New World Order for, lo, these past 50 years (maybe more), to which everyone else poo pooed, mocked, marginalized, demonized, disenfranchised and otherwise made fun of uproariously.

We're sorry folks! I can't say I was one of the "poo pooers" but I did my best not to become marginalized along with the rest of you. Please accept my humblest apologies.

In the current era, when the Senior Bush gave his New World Order Speech the lap dog media and every one else quickly went into the "oh come on, you're not one of those whacked out conspiracy freaks are you?" mode. That pretty much shut everyone up. That peer pressure thing is pretty powerful. After all, who wants to be demonized, marginalized and, well you know the rest.

So to what do I refer in this apology to the fringers? It's in reference to Global Guru Henry Kissinger in his most recent comments about Obama being primed to create 'New World Order:'
"The president-elect is coming into office at a moment when there is upheaval in many parts of the world simultaneously," Kissinger responded. "You have India, Pakistan; you have the jihadist movement. So he can't really say there is one problem, that it's the most important one. But he can give new impetus to American foreign policy partly because the reception of him is so extraordinary around the world. His task will be to develop an overall strategy for America in this period when, really, a new world order can be created. It's a great opportunity, it isn't just a crisis."
Isn't that special!

Sorry John Birchers! Sorry conspiracy buffs!

If you're really adventurous, google "new world order." Yup, you'll be visiting the sites of overt conspiracy aficianados and don't forget to apologize to them in the comments section.

WHOO HOO!!! Mark Levin Expands Show to 3 Hours!

Fans of the Great One, AKA Mark Levin, will be ecstatic to learn that his popular radio show will expand to 3 hours in February.
DALLAS (Jan. 5, 2009) - ABC Radio Networks announced today that is has signed Mark Levin, one of the leading talk personalities in the country, to a new multi-year syndication agreement. The Mark Levin Show is approaching its three-year anniversary with the network and in that time has rapidly grown to more than 175 affiliates with millions of listeners and become a recognized ratings leader. The program airs in 9 of the top 10 and 24 of the top 25 markets.

“Mark is one of the most talented and respected broadcasters in our industry and has won over a legion of loyal radio listeners,” said Jim Robinson, President of ABC Radio Networks. “He is an essential driver of our news/talk portfolio and we are proud to remain Mark’s partner in delivering such compelling programming.”

On February 2, The Mark Levin Show will expand from two hours to include an available third hour of content. Affiliates already committed to carrying the additional hour include WABC – New York; KABC – Los Angeles; WLS – Chicago; KSFO – San Francisco; WBAP – Dallas; WJR – Detroit; and WMAL – Washington, DC. More stations are expected to option the third hour once the opportunity is made available.

“Since we launched the show in national syndication, we’ve developed relationships with some truly outstanding stations and advertisers along the way and I’m so grateful to work with all of them,” said Levin. “The next few years could determine what kind of nation America will be for generations to come. I intend to be here defending the Constitution and continuing the dialogue with my wonderful audience.”

Couple this good news with his recent announcement that his new book, Liberty and Tyranny is soon to be released, and you have a powerful Reaganesque one/two punch.

Kudos to Mark Levin for all he does. If you're not listening to him on a regular basis you're probably a latent liberal.

Big Govt to the Rescue

My redirected friends at Cox & Forkum may not be doing their popular shtick of yesteryear, but they keep their old website up for occasions such as this (as well as for plugging their latest endeavors). Below is an editorial done back in 2002. The boys were on the cutting edge then and spot on now.

Like I intimated above, John and Allen have moved on to more lucrative activities, but when so much subject matter is out there for ones such as these, can you blame them for breaking down in a moment of good humor to note the latest machinations of Wall Street and Big Govt? I think not!

We can only hope for more side tracking behavior from these guys...(Cox & Forkum, that is, not the beggars!).

Why, again, did Israel totally evacuate and give Gaza to the Palestinians 3 years ago?

Some of the Israelis who lived in Gaza three years ago are returning to the land in which they once lived, only this time as soldiers on a ground mission to take out Hamas' strongholds. Many Israelis and other observers of the Middle East are rightly wondering why was it that Israel evacuated Gaza and gave it to the Palestinians with the presumed goal of "appeasing and accommodating" them in what might have been a peaceful trade off.

Silly Israeli's! Silly ANYone (as history has shown) who believes in the fallacious doctrine of appeasement and accommodation. It has never worked in the past, it's not working now, and it will never work in the future!

So what, then, was accomplished when Israel gave a fully developed Gaza to an ungrateful and destructive terrorist state? Absolutely nothing!

There will never be an end to the strife between terrorists and the "rest of us" until one of us wins or loses. Either the bad guys win or the good guys win.

I'm rooting for the good guys!

One of America's Mighty Men has died

Men like Roy Boehm don't come along very often. Boehm was the first SEAL; that elite special forces arm of the Navy, which was formed for covert operations and made up of men who undergo the most rigorous of training. They are the very best of the best. Roy Boehm died yesterday and he leaves in his wake a remarkable legacy.

Regular readers of the Bible know of King David's Mighty Men who were honored in the 23d chapter of II Samuel for their awesome feats of bravery and unbelievable fighting skills.

Most of our modern day Mighty Men go unnoticed and that's by design. We get to see their actions through a "glass darkly" in obits like Lt. Boehm's and occasional books about special ops, but by and large, we know very little of the courageous and harrowing acts of valor our Mighty Men perform continually in the course of their service.

Be sure to read the above linked piece about Lt. Boehm. His life would be worthy subject matter for an action movie; a real life Rambo as it were. Just look at that imposing countenance!

Krauthammer : The Necessity of Israel

Quote of the day; from Charles Krauthammer:

"For Hamas the only thing more prized than dead Jews are dead Palestinians."
You think that's an insensitive and unfounded observation? Then why haven't Arab countries come to the aid of so called Palestinian refugees for the last 30 years? Why is it that when Arafat died his wife had billions ($Billions!!!) in her French bank account. All that money was supposed to go to the "refugees" over the years when American taxpayers and the United Nations (one and the same) contributed mightily to the Palestinian cause. Why didn't all that money ever reach the down and out "refugees?"

Think about it. If the "refugees" weren't needy and homeless, then who would Hamas, Hezbolla and everyone else who wants Israel to be destroyed, have to blame for the perpetually down trodden Palestinians?

Why is it that Egypt (who borders Gaza on the south) refuses to allow any "refugees" to enter their country? Why isn't Egypt offiering aid to them?

Why is it that Jordan (from whence most Palestinians hale) won't accept them back into their country? And why aren't they sending aid?

Keep in mind there are many Palestinians and Arabs who live freely in Israel and have all the civic rights afforded to Israeli's. It's only in the Arab ruled countries where they have limited or no rights, especially if you happen to be a woman! An Arab citizen of Israel can vote and run for office. Think of that! Can they do that in Gaza? Can Jews vote in Arab countries?

Israel isn't the bad guy in this war. How many countries would have patiently sat back and allowed terrorist missiles to plummet their territories for months on end without a response? And who is it that has sent upwards of 150 truckloads of medical aid into Gaza since the onset of this war? Was it the corrupt United Nations? Was it Iran? Was it Lebanon? No, it was Israel! (Sounds a lot like America when it comes to helping those who hate and seek to destroy us, doesn't it?)

It's very telling to see and hear those who continually demonize Israel each and every time it is provoked to the point of "no more." When their arguments are quickly refuted, it seldom fails that anti-Semitic epithets shortly follow.

Be sure to read Krauthammer's piece and don't be quick to believe the leftist terrorist sympathizers at home or abroad.
