WND: The ten most covered-up stories of 2009

So what was the most covered up story of 2009? My guess was the revelation/documentation that Climate Change was a giant hoax, but that was #3 on WorldNetDaily's most covered-up stories in 2009.

Make your own list and compare it to the linked article. These were huge stories that basically got swept under the mat by the predictable Propagandist Press.

Here's Big Government's list of the most underreported stories.

Hunger for God

It's been awhile, but every now and then I'll post an essay written by a friend and/or associate. This piece was written by Loren Shields. Actually, I'm not sure we've met, but I went to high school with his wife 40 years ago and we've kept in touch over the years. Loren is an avid writer of things inspirational and has quite a large email readership of his almost daily feature, "Life Worth Living," which I intend to post from time to time.

I thought this most recent essay titled "Hunger for God" was timely. Christmas has come and gone; some observe Christmas as the celebration of Christ's nativity and most others celebrate it in a more secular fashion.

If you are seriously worshipful of Christ, this is essential reading. Love and adoration for Christmas and the Baby Jesus is one thing; hunger for God is quite another.

Loren points out that the church in America (ANY church) virtually parallels society in every way. That, in itself, should scare the hell out of God-fearing church goers. Read on church goers; this message is for you. Here's Loren's piece:

HUNGER FOR GOD
Loren B. Shields

After finishing a business transaction about 18 years ago, I asked the man if he was a Christian. I never forgot his answer: “I don't have time to be a Christian!” I replied: “You don't have time NOT to be!” He was not opposed to God. He was just too busy with life, coupled with false concepts of God and what he might have to give up. I do not know what became of him. I can only hope that one day he latched onto God's grace to become a solid man of God today.

But what about those of us who already profess Christ as Savior and Lord? Do we have time to BE a Christian? Look around! There is little difference between believers and non-believers. The church virtually mirrors the world in everything – language, dress, music, entertainment, etc. The world has dictated the direction of the church and we have been eager to follow. Statistics reveal the church to be almost parallel to non-Christians with divorce, unmarried partners and pregnancies, convictions and beliefs, adultery, pornography, addictions, and more. We show the world LITTLE to be desired. The late Rev. Adrian Rogers stated that watching The Passion of the Christ moved him to ask himself, “Adrian, are the things you are living for worth Jesus dying for?”

In a recent Bible Study the question was asked: “Why are we not hungry for more of Christ?” Are we asking ourselves: What have I overlooked? What am I doing that I should NOT be doing? Or, what am I not doing that I SHOULD be doing? Do I easily give in to my own desires? Will I stand strong or shrink in a real test of my faith? How will I respond when the heat is turned up?

Recall the story of the frog sitting in a pot of cold water that is gradually heated. The process is slow and the frog doesn't even notice the rising temperature as it gets hot. Finally, the frog is boiled alive, cooked to death. A good metaphor for the slippery slope of compromise.

Mighty man of God King David fell hard as his eyes came off of God and onto Bathsheba. Reread the story. He was blinded for a long time before he came to his senses. Are we any different? When we enjoy what we know is wrong, we would prefer God keep His distance. But our God is not a distant God who watches us from afar. God is up close and involved in His people. God feels the hurt when we turn our back on Him; our doing so cannot be ignored. God sees and, just as with David, there will be consequences. As with Jonah, we can run but we can’t hide. “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows” (Gal 6:7).

Another great man, wise King Solomon, built a grand temple for God. His temple dedication prayer was simply awesome (1 Kings 8). God heard his prayer and charged him to be faithful and obedient, with consequences otherwise (1 Kings 9:1-9). But, “when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the Lord his God” (1 Kings 11:4). And “Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and did not fully follow the Lord” (6). “So the Lord became angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned from the Lord God of Israel” (9).

Consequences DID follow and the heat turned up for Solomon. “Now the Lord raised up an adversary against Solomon…” (14). “And God raised up another adversary against him…” (23). “Then Solomon's servant, Jeroboam…also rebelled against the king” (26). Conflicts – sent by God to bring Solomon back to a right mind and relationship. There ARE consequences to sin yet God’s patience, mercy and love give us space and time to repent (Rom 2:4; 2 Pet 3:9; Rev 2:21).

Yes, God sees! “For God is closely watching you, and he weighs carefully everything you do” (Pro 5:21 TLB). “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chron 16:9). “…But this is the one to whom I will look, to the humble and contrite in spirit, who trembles at my word” (Isa 66:2).

God's way says: “Abandon yourself wholly to Me. Choose Jesus, the only way to eternal life” (John 14:6; 6:47; Acts 4:12; 1 John 5:11). Man's way says: “Don't put all your eggs in one basket. All paths lead to God. There are other possibilities. Leave yourself an out, just in case.” (Col 2:8)

David learned God’s way IS best and he “did what was right in the eyes of the Lord” (1 Kings 15:5). He penned: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Ps 139:23,24). Can we say that to God from our heart? Do we hunger for MORE of Him?

Just as valid for us today is Moses’ challenge to Israel: “Understand this now, and set it in your heart, that the Lord is God...there is no other” (Deut 4:39). Also just as valid for us today is Jesus’ warning: “If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned” (John 15:6).

Big Government: "A Very Barry Christmas"

It's not as surprising as it is humorous that the White House Christmas tree is festooned with baubles portraying a transvestite, Chaiman Mao and Obama on Mt. Rushmore . Who wouldn't have those memorable decorations on their Christmas tree?

Be sure to check out the above linked piece at "Big Goverment."

Seasonal Greetings to my Democrat Friends

Got this from a friend today; it should warm the cockles of your heart:
To All My Democratic Friends:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2010, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere . Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wish.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And To My Republican Friends:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ 2010.
$100B Per Year to Countries that Hate Us!
Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, announced at the ClimateGate er, the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen today that the U.S. is going to contribute $100B each year to countries that viscerally hate us as witnessed by the rollicking cheers when Dictator-in-Chief, Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, spewed vitriolic epithets at us just yesterday.
That's right, he was the most applauded speaker thus far. He and his ilk hate us. They hate capitalism, but they demand that we share the wealth (we once had) with them.
That's what socialism and communism is all about...absconding with the wealth of those who have worked to achieve what they have and tragically, our "historical" president and those in his administration are out to appease and accommodate the very people who hate us and want to destroy us.
Appeasement and accommodation has never worked in the past; nor has socialism, but that won't stop the leftists, currently in power, from transforming this once great country to the socialistic welfare state it is rapidly becoming.
Hope and change was always a myth. Sadly, it's taking much too long for the masses to see what is going on under their unemployed noses.
Is it any surprise the leftists demand we pass their transforming bills posthaste without debate? They can't handle debate because everything they stand for is based on lies, from climate change to national health care. They refuse to debate the facts. Everything has to be done behind closed doors and those who disagree with the leftist agenda are deniers or obstructionists.
All You Need to Know about the Copenhagen Climate Conference
It's dangerously corrupt and over funded organizations like the U.N. and radical leaders like president Obama who want to put our economy in the hands of Chavez fans. That's right, the crowd in Copenhagen erupted in applause when Chavez said:
...there was a “silent and terrible ghost in the room” and that ghost was called capitalism.
Nice! Can we expect that our apologetic president will slap down this dictator talk? It's not likely. Be sure to read the above linked piece. It's all you need to know about the hoax of climate change and the reasons (read, dollars) behind it.
You Know the Copenhagen Environmental Conference is a Sham When...
You know the Copenhagen Environmental Conference is a sham when...
an overblown environmental conference culminates with Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe, Venezuela's Hugo Chavez and Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad lecturing the West on virtue, color it another shakedown.
Add to that Al Gore's gross misrepresentation of the North Pole totally melting within 5 years and you have what amounts to an embarrassing expose' of the left's desperate attempt to coerce industrialized countries to transfer vast amounts of wealth to 3d and 4th world thugocracies in order to take socialism global, compliments of the U.S. Taxpayer.
A sham, indeed, as is everything the left is trying to foist upon unwilling taxpayers, who are at a breaking point.
What is the utopic model the left can point to so that we might know exactly where they wish to take us? Which liberal run city in America do they hold up as an example? Detroit? Washington DC? San Francisco? Los Angeles? Which liberal state is setting the example of how we should run our country? New Jersey? New York? California? Michigan?
How are those meccas of liberalism/leftism/progressivism doing anyway?
Do we want our once great country to end up like Michigan, New Jersey or California?
That's where Obama, Pelosi and Reid and the most corrupt congress of all time are taking us. May their agenda be destroyed before our country is.
God help us...and God help them if they succeed in destroying America as we've known it!
American Thinker: "Why Leaderless Tea Parties Are Beating the GOP"
The American Thinker, has a piece today titled, Why Leaderless Tea Parties Are Beating the GOP. The RINO's in Washington should read it and learn from it, or weep; whichever!
I'm a Tea Partier and I couldn't be more upset with the gelded republicans in congress. No, I'm not a third party guy; I remember Ross Perot. He got Clinton elected.
We don't need to form a third party, we need to retake the republican party. But the leadership, such as it is, has become politically correct. That means they dare not offend anyone who isn't a White, Christian, heterosexual man. But it is certainly acceptable to offend those guys, because those guys are not on the list of acceptable minorities, even though they probably are a minority when counted among the multitude of minority special interest groups the PC crowd has cultured for more than a generation.
Go ahead and call them "angry white guys" but take a closer look at any Tea Party gathering and you'll be wise to take note of the "diversity" (to use a favorite divisive PC word) of the crowds.
The problem we have with mainstream republicans can be summed up with the conundrum so many of them are having with ClimateGate. Newt Gingrich, who made an embarrassing advertisement with Nancy Pelosi last year in an attempt to foist the green agenda upon us, hasn't even commented on ClimateGate (unless I missed it.) What's with that, anyway? What are they waiting for...more consensus? Can't they take a stand one way or the other?
All of the republicans should be making serious public waves (title waves!) about the most egregious hoax of this past couple of decades that is ClimateGate. But most have been completely silent.
Sen. Inhofe is the only one who comes to mind who came out immediately to decry the hoax of ClimateGate. Where are the other republicans?
Why aren't the republicans in congress publicly showing their outrage over this massive nationalized ObamaCare? Why aren't they showing outrage over Cap and Trade? Where's the outrage over the corrupt, radical and perverted czars which have been appointed in order to bypass congress? Why aren't they showing outrage over absolutely everything this outrageous administration does?
That, my friend is why Tea Partiers are growing in numbers and why many of the republicans in congress are becoming as irrelevant as the democrats.
Is it any surprise that surveys are indicating Rush Limbaugh is the conservative leader in the country?
The Barn: "Reason #1469 Why We Homeschool"
You're not going to hear this anywhere but on the blogosphere and Big Talk Radio because the weenies in the lame stream media are part and parcel to this perverse crap. If you haven't heard of Kevin Jennings, the so-called "safe-school czar," then you're not paying attention (and you NEED to be paying attention!)
First thing you need to do is visit The Barn to see who this miscreant is and what he represents. Then go to Michelle Malkin's site for even more disgusting information on this pervert who Obama personally chose to be the "safe-school czar."
Think about it folks, this didn't just slip by Obama and his vetting process. Like all the other dubious czars, this pervert is there because of his ideology and certainly not in spite of it.
Keep an eye on Kevin Jennings as well as the other creeps in this Obama administration. These people are bad news for this once great country!
UPDATE: More on Kevin Jennings: Teaching Your Kids to Live the Porn Life.
Doug Giles calls it as it is in his most recent column: Kevin Jennings and “FistGate” Should Make Parents Furious
Wouldn't it be refreshing if the someone in the media actually asked Obama about this guy?
Doug Giles: "It’s Got to Suck to be a Climavangelist!"
You gotta love Doug Giles' brand of "stick-it-to-emism." In his most recent piece, titled It’s Got to Suck to be a Climavangelist! he waxes sarcastic on a level that transcends even Ms. Coulter.
O' sure, he's ribald, bawdy and in your face, but that's what makes him so lovable. Here are a few of his witticisms:
Yep, since the revealing of the egregious climate con job discovered in the email exchanges with “scientists” at the University of East Anglia and the subsequent resignations of a couple of their glory boys, Climavangelism and Climavangelists have fallen on tough times. Kinda like ACORN has. Maybe, like ACORN, the Climate Change/Global Warming reality stylists could change their name. Yeah, that’s it! I hear ACORN is going to fly under the new moniker “Societal Assistance Through Action Now,” or “SATAN” for short.
As you can tell, I truly don’t give a rat’s backside what Al Gore and his warm earth whores do in light of being lied to, but I do care what normal, non-brainwashed droogies do in lieu of this academic Ponzi scheme. I say a little rebellion is in order seeing how these clowns have sought to control our lives and milk our wallets in one of the greatest scientific scams in the last few centuries.
That's not all...Giles has resolved to get even with the fraudulent eco-freaks:
1. I am going to go outside by my pool and spray two full 32oz cans of Aqua Net right at the ozone.
2. I am going to use a gas powered scooter to go from room to room in my house, which will have all the outside doors open wide while the A/C is blowing full blast.
3. I am going to buy a ‘69 GTO with no exhaust system and let it idle for 4 hours a day in my driveway every day until Jesus returns.
Prager University: Gratitude; the Key to Happiness
Compliments of Prager University (Give us 5 minutes and we’ll give you a semester…) for which I am extremely grateful!
The Visceral Hate for Sarah is bound to intensify; here's why.
You may already may be able to hear the caterwauling as a result of Sarah Palin's recent statement that our nation should rededicate itself to God. Whoa...how boldly refreshing is that?
We know we'd never hear that from the left, unless they were referring to Mother Earth, but how many republican politicians would have the guts to suggest we need to humbly turn back to God. From the point of view of someone on the right, this is why Sarah Palin is so widely loved and it's precisely why she is so viscerally hated by the left and by even many republicans who like to call themselves conservative.
Click on the above link to see what she said. We need more leaders who have the wherewithal to admit we need God in our lives; personally and nationally.
There may be hope for this once great country, but it's not going to be found in more and bigger oppressive govt or some false messiah, it's going to be found if and when we turn back to God (more caterwauling!)
Irony of the Day: Global warming's new clothes
Irony is proof that God has a terrific sense of humor! Today's irony is the funny factoid found in The American Thinker's piece, Global warming's new clothes:
Some are unhappy that the Copenhagen conference on climate change is going forward. I think that it is entirely appropriate in light of the revelations coming out of CRU/IPCC. After all, Copenhagen was where Danish author Hans Christian Andersen published The Emperor's New Clothes in 1837. While we tend to remember the little boy who called out "But he isn't wearing anything at all!" we often forget that the entire story was about far more than a vain ruler.
It begins, after all, with two con men who promise they can weave cloth of unsurpassed beauty to the enlightened but which would be invisible to any man who was unfit for his office or unpardonably stupid. They would then tailor that fabric into a fabulous suit of clothes for the emperor. The emperor invested in the venture because such traits would be useful to someone like himself as emperors tend attract both sycophants and self serving manipulators.
Be sure to read the rest of the piece. I'm sure God is smiling.
Prescient Margaret Thatcher Quote of the Day
The inimitable Margaret Thatcher said it:
"I think we've been through a period where too many people have been given to understand that if they have a problem, it's the government's job to cope with it. 'I have a problem, I'll get a grant.' 'I'm homeless, the government must house me.' They're casting their problem on society. And you know, there is no such thing as society. There are individual men and women, and there are families. And no government can do anything except through people, and people must look to themselves first. It's our duty to look after ourselves and then, also, to look after our neighbour. People have got the entitlements too much in mind, without the obligations. There's no such thing as entitlement, unless someone has first met an obligation."
Questions to Ask Your Congressmen
If you're not already in touch with the elected govt officials who represent you, now would be a good time to do so. Those who represent you need to be asked pointed questions now more than ever.
I'm talking mayors, city councelmen, state representatives and senators, governors, in addition to the senators and representatives you send to Washington. They all need a good talking to about very basic items that have cost us voluminous amounts of money in the past and will cost us even more in the future if the president and this current congress get their agenda passed.
We need to politely ask them these very basic questions:
1) Do you believe in man-caused global warming/climate change?
2) What do you think about ClimateGate?
3) Are you going to take a public stand against the Global Warming hoax?
4) Where do you stand on Cap & Trade?
These very basic questions need to be asked of our elected officials because the future tax structure will be based on this massive hoax if we don't stand up against it right now.
American Thinker: Sen. Hutchison Remains Silent on Climategate
According to the American Thinker Blog, Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison remains silent on ClimateGate. My question is, why? What has she been doing the last 25 years. Hasn't she been paying attention?
I don't mean to pick on Sen. Hutchison; she just happens to be the one mentioned in the above linked piece.
Every politician, especially those who claim to be conservative need to be asked where they stand on ClimateGate. They either stand on the side of truth or the the side of deception...which is it?
So don't tarry. Call your representatives and find out where they stand on this.
You might even call your local radio station and ask them why they're not covering this story. It's easily the most important story of this century when you consider the billions and billions of dollars spent on what amounts to a massive hoax.
Why aren't they covering it?
The silence is deafening!
Headline of the Day
From the Business and Media Institute:
12 Days, 3 Networks and No Mention of ClimateGate Scandal
Which, of course, means that this story is huge.
Dick Cheney slams President Obama
This is probably the most important read of the day and a good way to start the week. Dick Cheney aptly slams President Obama for taking America down the wrong path and projecting unprecedented weakness in the face of our enemies. You dare not miss this powerful piece. It's going to be talked about all day. Read it now so you'll know what they're talking about.
