Don't Be Distracted This Week
There will be much in the news this week about the Newsweek fiasco as well as
the Michael Jackson Trial and who knows what else. The thing to watch is how the Senate republicans will deal with the so called "nuclear option" and the desired up and down vote on judicial nominations. That's the important story this week.
Additionally, regardless of how you think about the corrupted, but not-yet-irrelevant United Nations, the John Bolton nomination is something to watch. Bolton is a bellwether figure in the efficacy of the republican dominance in the Senate. Will they allow the democratic minority to rule the roost or will the repubs take advantage of their majority status for a change and take charge.
