The Imperial Congress

What is it about Rep. William Jefferson, democrat, Louisiana, that he be given such broad benefit of the doubt...from both sides of the isle and maybe even moreso from the right side! Hmmmm, do you think it might have something to do with the "white guilt" that Shelby Steele brought to our attention a few weeks ago?

Or is it the "soft bigotry of low expectations" from his cohorts that enables this behavior which would be unacceptable by white republicans.

If I were Black, I would raise hell with Rep. Jefferson's office. What kind of representative is he and who does he represent? The silence of his constituency is puzzling, unless they see him as a good representative.

Is it actually possible that his constituents also are guilty of the bigotry of low expectations?
