Be Sure to See "Amazing Grace"
This morning we went to see the newly released movie, Amazing Grace. It's a wonderfully inspirational and motivating movie, especially for practicing Christians.
Christians are often in a quandary as to what their/our role is or should be in society. In the above mentioned movie, William Wilburforce found himself in the very same situation. Should he, as a Christian, devote himself to "praising God" or involve himself in politics.
I'm not going to ruin the movie for you. It's a must see and that's all I will divulge at this time. Go see it soon before the plot is thrown about in the media. See it before it's completely digested in public forums.
It's an excellent movie with beautiful, but realistic English sets.
The movie is about the slave trade in the late 1700's. It was an ugly and despicable era that was not peculiar to England and America. Slavery was and always has been a cruel inhumanity against other humans and it exists to this very day.
It should be noted, however, that slavery was abolished in England and the United States before it was abolished anywhere else. Slavery still exists around the world, but many so-called human rights organizations seem to take little notice.
