Rule by the Judiciary

It doesn't seem to be a problem when cities around the country declare themselves "Sanctuary Cities," where illegals are given legal status, but woe be to the city who votes to discourage or curtail the activities of illegals aliens.

The Dallas suburb of Farmers Branch voted overwhelmingly, several months ago, to make it illegal for landlords to rent to illegal aliens, but the courts have stepped and nipped that measure in the bud:

U.S. District Judge Sam Lindsay on Tuesday granted a preliminary injunction today to block implementation of an anti-illegal immigration ordinance in Farmers Branch.

The ordinance, which would prevent apartment landlords from renting to most illegal immigrants, initially was adopted by the Farmers Branch City Council in January and was approved overwhelmingly by Farmers Branch residents in a referendum on May 12. Landlords would have faced fines of up to $500 per day for each violation.

In his 33-page ruling, Judge Lindsay agreed with the plaintiffs and rejected all of the city’s arguments that the ordinance should be allowed to stand.

"All in all, the court concludes that only the federal government may determine whether an individual is legally in the United States. Farmers Branch, rather than deferring to the federal government's determination of immigration status, has created its own classification scheme for determining which noncitizens (sic) may rent an apartment in that city," Judge Lindsay wrote. (emphasis mine)

In other words the Feds, AKA Big Gov't, have the right to tell you, illegal aliens aren't really illegal. If you think it's bad now, just wait for the new "immigration bill" to be rammed into law.

When the judiciary has the final say, it doesn't matter how the good folks in America vote, unless they vote the way the leftist judges want them to.
