When Small Men Ascend to Power
What are we as a country able to do about small men of dubious character who become mad and corrupt with the taste of power? You know the type. I'm not talking about the irrelevant two bit dictators of teeny tiny thugocracies who are so well thought of in the United Nations. I'm talking about the likes of Hugo Chavez who has the gall to come to New York City and call our president the devil himself, or the crazy North Korean Kim Jung Il, (who fancies himself a movie star, by the way) and of course, Iran's President Ahmadinejad who swears to obliterate Israel...very soon!
These guys hate us and if you think they are powerless against the mighty United States, think again. Just what are we prepared to do with these guys? Do we have the will to deal with them?
They may not be able to single handedly damage us, but there are a lot of other bad guys out there who really don't think that much of us and at some point could gang up on us. Stranger things have happened, you know!
Do you think Putin is our buddy? What about China? Yes, we're their best customer, but have you noticed the number of recalls we're having with our largest trading partner? All is not cool with China and US relations.
So what can we personally do in this volatile world to prepare for what may be coming? Do we just sit back and expect that everything is going to continue on ever so hunkydorily?
When our own leadership is weakening and displaying a lack of resolve, even more doubts arise as to what the future has in store for us.
My friend Ron Dart has an excellent 28 minute radio broadcast up for the weekend called Faith for the Hard Times. You can hear it at that link or you can scroll down and click on the Born to Win pulsating icon. It'll be up all weekend.
