The Poor in America

Prepare yourself to be hearing how poverty stricken the U.S.A. is. The leftist media is going to make hay over the census report on poverty today, so hold on tight and get ready to hear how horrific things are in this country.

Never mind Robert Rector's piece that points out just how well our "poor" have it in this country. Don't get me wrong...there are really poor people in the U.S. and in every other country and no one is making light of that. Rector's only point is that the poor in the U.S. can't be compared to the poor in nations that are really, really poor.

That being said, there are politicians, (mostly on the left) who would have you believe that our poor are among the poorest of them all. The obvious reason being is so the pandering politicians (mostly on the left) can proceed to buy the votes of those who are probably already on one or more gov't doles by promising even more gov't handouts.

Rector's column rightly points out how well the poor have it in this country. Read the piece. Our "poor" are wealthy compared to the desolate masses living in thugocracies and communist dictatorships around the world.

By the way, how are those Cubans doing down there, Michael Moore? Best health care in the world? Yeah, right!
