San Francisco fails in attack on Michael Savage
Syndicated talk radio host, Michael Savage, has won his fight with the city of San Francisco.
I'm wondering if he's wondering why more people and other talk show hosts didn't rush (no pun intended) to his defense in his battle with the City by the Bay. Here's why...it's because he's a jerk and a lousy example of a conservative talk show host.
That being said, he has every right to be a jerk, just as Don Imus, Katie Couric, Keith Olbermann and Howard Stern have every right to be jerks. Even though no one has a right to not be offended, we all have a right to be a jerk. But if you're going to be a jerk, you have to realize there's a price you're going to have to pay.
As a small businessman, allow me to pass on a lesson to the paying public. Jerks and a**holes always have to pay more (in one way or another) and people aren't going to come to their aid nearly as quickly as they will for someone likeable. Michael Savage is not likeable, regardless of his politics. He comes across as a bitter, angry, hateful and vindictive individual. People who may side with him politically on some or even many issues, may refuse to support him because of his obnoxious demeanor.
Contrast that with other conservatives who are upbeat and civil. Michael Savage is not civil and he deals in hyperbole and half-truths. That's why I quit listening to him months ago. I fact-checked him on a quote he referenced and it was not factual. When I emailed him to let him know of the error, I never heard back from him, nor did he correct the error.
Everyone makes mistakes, but when they are pointed out to you and your disregard them, it just doesn't cut it.
Still, it's too bad more people didn't rush to Savage's aid. Eventually the left is coming after every conservative talk show host and if they/we don't hang together, we most definitely will all hang separately. Didn't one of our founding Dads say something along those lines?
