Congress debate begins on North America Union

Hmmm...this is a curious headline: Congress debate begins on North America Union. If you are an observer of things along these lines, you'll probably know that there are way more people who "pooh pooh" this notion than not.

Whenever this subject comes up, (usually at WorldNetDaily.com), very few in the talk radio realm are bold enough to take it up. Those who do, are quickly labeled "nutters" and "whacked out extremists." And these are labels from those on the "right" side of the isle! With friends like those.....

But if the so-called North American Union is a figment of Jerome Corsi's imagination, then why is congress going to debate it? Doesn't the fact that they are going to debate it give the subject a bit of credence?

And when might we owe an apology to the conspiracy buffs who have been saying for years, now, that the North American Union is just a piece of the global pie in what looks to be an inevitable global governance.
_____________

This is an excellent piece to accompany the above post. In it, Jerome Corsi explains: Why I am not a Republican. Be sure to read it...there's a lot going on in the republican party.

A Little Chill in the Air for NASA's "global warming alarmist in chief?"

Maybe you weren't a news or talk radio junkie back in the '70's like I was, but a "coming, man-caused (of course) ice age was right around the corner, we were told, back then. It was all the rage in weekly news magazines and on talk radio. Some scientists were even talking about blackening the polar ice caps with coal dust so they would absorb more of the sun's heat and melt to stave off the dreaded new Ice Age.

In terms of "Ice Ages," "right around the corner" should be right about now, shouldn't it? Who was putting out this data back then, you ask? Well, none other than NASA scientist James Hansen one of the more prominent global warming alarmists who only recently was pressured to revise his historical data for the ten hottest years on record.

This above linked piece deserves attention. Just how credible is James Hanson? Have his findings and his computer models been totally objective or does he have an agenda like so many of the "man-caused global warming" enthusiasts in his camp?

Be sure to read this Investor's.com piece.

Study: Biofuels May Disperse More Greenhouse Gases Than Oil

Yes, the headline reads: Biofuels May Disperse More Greenhouse Gases Than Oil, but does anyone think it matters one way or another to the "man causes global warming" believers? This little tidbit of information is irrelevant in their world view because the developers of biofuels "care more" about the earth. Their intentions are "more pure" than Big Oil.

It doesn't matter that the global warming evangelists, such as Al Gore, pollute far more than the average American; it's OK for them because their message is so important.

It hasn't bothered them that corn prices have skyrocketed internationally because of high demand in ethanol production, causing food shortages in some of the world's poorest areas.

The previously exposed Ethanol Myths haven't mattered to the global warming enthusiasts because all that really does matter to them is to further the leftist agenda of massive redistribution of our wealth to developing countries.

Like a hypocritical preacher who cruises for prostitutes, are the global warming evangelists who tell us how we should manage our energy intake. What shameless hypocrites! They should be shunned, not lauded.

Eleven Percenters!

Approval ratings for Congress are at record lows. 11% to be exact (give or take a few points if you take into respect the margin of error). Surely it can't have anything to do with the leadership of Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi and their constant unpleasant demeanors and their desire to lose the war against terrorism at any cost. Naw....it can't have anything to do with that!
A paltry 11 percent rated Congress positively, beating the previous low of 14 percent in July.
Don't you just love it? It won't be long before their approval rate will be in the single digits. I don't know of a congress that is more deserving of such low ratings. These people are despicable. Contempt of congress? O yeah!

Terrorists disclose: We LOVE liberals! (Isn't that a problem for anyone?)

As reported in WorldNetDaily: Terrorists disclose: We LOVE liberals!

How proud and honored the leftist libs must be! Is anyone going to ask them about this, or will the leftist media just let this slide? Doesn't anyone in the media see this as a problem for the dems? And isn't it a giant problem that the media won't see this as a problem?

Government Indoctrination Centers

One of the dem's very favorite dictators has decided that private schools just aren't cutting it in his growing fiefdom. After all, they might just teach the evils of communist dictatorships. You can probably bet that home schools are going to put out of business too. Think it can't happen in this country?

Be sure to visit the Cox & Forkum site for more about Hugo Chavez.
Do you think the leftist media or the democrat presidential nominees will be critical of this move? Do you think the leftist media will even persue this story?

220 years ago today

This is an important day in history that may go unnoticed to your kiddos in gov't schools, politicians who want your vote and Joe 6-Pack, who's pretty happy to have a job, a remote control and a pack of Shiner ...and that's if you're lucky enough to live in Texas!

Go to WorldNetDaily to see what was going on 220 years ago and then thank God you live in this great country! (Thank God twice if you live in Texas!)

The 'Guilty Green' (gasp!) don't always recycle

The 'Guilty Green' don't always recycle...but their guilt keeps them in check and that makes them feel vastly superior to those of us who think they are chasing after moonbeams.

This is really an enlightening piece. A must read for the "non-believers."

Terrorists thank Cindy (and leftists like her)

What would terrorists do without leftists like Cindy Sheehan? WorldNetDaily documents the gratitude of the terrorists for all the leftists do for them.

It's a beautiful thing!
Do you think it's the least bit disconcerting to dems across the board that the terrorists side with them on virtually every plank in their platform? When was the last time the dems have come out against the terrorists?
Do we want people in office who side with the enemy? Hello!!!! Does that question even NEED to be asked?!!!!

(Wish I knew who to give credit to for this pic...)

'History' Teacher Asks 14-Year-Olds to Renounce U.S. Citizenship

Warner Todd Huston, writing for NewsBusters.org is featuring piece about a teacher in Chico, CA. who would like his students to renounce their U.S. citizenship. What Huston fails to ask is, how many of the students are already non-citizens? It IS California, after all.

Still, the actions of a teacher to go through these motions is intolerable. California or not, this is America...love it or leave it, you commie infidel!

Be sure to read this piece. If you're a parent, you really need to yank Dick, Jane and Sally out of your neighborhood gov't indoctrination center (if, in fact, they're not being shipped to the other side of town for the sake of diversity) and get to the business of home schooling them. It's your responsibility when all is said and done. Just get to it!

Even Spot will be happier when you finally make the right decision to home school!

U.N. Treaty Threatens U.S. Sovereignty

I just posted this at Reject the U.N.

From NewsMax:
Sunday, September 16, 2007 8:35 PM

By: Chris Gonsalves

U.S. scientists aboard the Coast Guard icebreaker Healy are mapping the ocean floor in an effort to claim territory that holds an estimated 400 billion barrels of untapped undersea oil and gas.

The U.S. is poised to turn much of its authority on the high seas over to international arbiters by ratifying a long-controversial United Nations sea treaty.

Approval of the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), a 25-year-old international treaty regulating use of the world’s oceans, is steaming full speed ahead in the Senate, where committee hearings are set to begin Sept. 27.

The full Senate is likely to ratify the treaty -- which would link U.S. naval actions to those of 155 other member nations -- by year's end.

For decades, critics have derided the 182-page Law of the Sea pact as a threat to U.S. sovereignty and naval independence.

They add that it would create a massive new U.N. bureaucracy (the International Seabed Authority); would give environmentalists a back door to greater regulation; and would hinder the U.S. military's efforts to capture terrorists on the high seas.

“This is nothing less than a raid on our sovereignty,” Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., warns Newsmax. “I objected to it when it resurfaced in 2004, and I object to it now as I see it sneaking up on us again. What is this obsession we have for surrendering our jurisdiction to this international body? Nobody can give me a reasonable answer.”

Despite those concerns, however, support for the measure has never been stronger.

This is a serious issue which isn't getting much attention in the MSM or, for that matter, in the New Media. Unfortunately our friends in Talk Radio give almost no attention to what goes on at the U.N., but this is going on in our Senate! If ever you needed to contact your senators, now is the time to let them know you DO NOT go along with this Law of the Sea Treaty.

Be sure you read the entire piece at NewsMax. This is a giant move which has been in the works for years. We can't let is slip by. This isn't a matter of incrementalism; this would be a massive surrender of sovereignty.

After all W's done for his Mexican Amigo

Maybe it will be after his 8 years in office are over and done before he realizes that the so-called "new tone" never really caught on at home or abroad. Take, for instance, his bad mouthing amigo,Vicente Fox:
At the White House, the president has got to be muttering "some friend" when he pores over the new autobio from his old buddy Vicente Fox, Mexico's former leader. That's because Fox raps his border pal as stubborn and "the cockiest guy I have ever met in my life." Revolution of Hope, out next month, is a well-written, well-researched book about Fox's political career and presidency, which coincided with George W. Bush's. While he expresses a kinship with W, he breaks with the prez on the war and slams the GOP's immigration platform. He blames Bush's stubbornness on Iraq for bad international relations, calls his Spanish "grade-school level," and admits he didn't think Bush would ever become president. "I can't honestly say that I had ever seen George W. Bush getting to the White House," he pens.
Some friend!

Speaking of good friends...Alan Greenspan claims Iraq war was really for oil...OK...let's say that's so; do you think we should let one of the world's largest oil deposits fall into the hands of Islamofascist terrorists?

When we bomb the hell out of Iran, the critics will be saying, "It was really because of Israel." Do you think we should let the rest of the uncivil world have their way with Israel and force her into the Mediterranean?

Jackie Mason Excoriates the Dems

Thanks to Laura Ingraham for bringing Jackie Mason's video blog to my attention. He tells it smack dab like it is as only he can say it. Listen up!

Anti-Semitism is Spreading

Victor Davis Hanson's most recent column, A New Strain of Anti-Semitism is Spreading is surely one of this week's must reads:
Who recently said: "These Jews started 19 Crusades. The 19th was World War (1). Why? Only to build Israel."

Some holdover Nazi?

Hardly. It was former Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan of Turkey, a NATO ally. He went on to claim that the Jews -- whom he refers to as "bacteria" -- controlled China, India and Japan, and ran the United States.

Who alleged: "The Arabs who were involved in 9/11 cooperated with the Zionists, actually. It was a cooperation. They gave them the perfect excuse to denounce all Arabs."

A conspiracy nut?

Actually, it was former Democratic U.S. Sen. James Abourezk of South Dakota. He denounced Israel on a Hezbollah-owned television station, adding: "I marveled at the Hezbollah resistance to Israel. . . . It was a marvel of organization, of courage and bravery."

And finally, who claimed at a United Nations-sponsored conference that democratic Israel was "much worse" than the former apartheid South Africa, and that it "undermines the international community's reaction to global warming"? A radical environmentalist wacko?

Again, no. It was Clare Short, a member of the British parliament. She was a secretary for international development under Prime Minister Tony Blair.

A new virulent strain of the old anti-Semitism is spreading worldwide. This hate -- of a magnitude not seen in over 70 years -- is not just espoused by Iran's loony president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, or radical jihadists.

The latest anti-Semitism is also now mouthed by world leaders and sophisticated politicians and academics. Their loathing often masquerades as "anti-Zionism" or "legitimate" criticism of Israel. But the venom exclusively reserved for the Jewish state betrays their existential hatred.
You need to read the rest of the piece. These are dangerous times for Jews around the world and for the state of Israel. The USA is the only friend and ally of any significance Israel has these days and there are far too many in this country who are siding with terrorists who want Israel to be destroyed.

Bomb Sights on Iran?

Should People Stop Having Children to Halt Global Warming?

You know we're living in sick, twisted times when a segment of society thinks that people should stop having children to halt global warming.

The above link will take you to a piece written by Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters.org which, in turn, will send you to Slate for the original piece. I URGE you to go there and read the entire piece with all its links. It may be eye opening to you if you think the "green" movement is a warm and fuzzy place to be.

You had to know this was coming if you've paid any attention at all to the vast array of left wing extremist groups who value animals and the environment way above mankind. Not so co-incidentally, these leftist groups are secular and eschew the existence of the Creator God and they prove it continually by making sure He's evicted from every institution they can think of.

Their god is the creation, not the Creator.

So it follows that, since man was created in the image of God, they actually hate mankind almost as much as they hate God. Why?

This self-destructive philosophy could only be authored by someone who might be privy to and threatened by mankind's ultimate potential and therefore would attempt to destroy mankind altogether.

Who would or could have such a death wish for mankind?

See for yourself!

And speaking of global warming, Ron Dart has an excellent broadcast this weekend titled Real Global Warming. You can access it on the right hand column of this blog or by going to the Born to Win website. Check it out!

"The Unbearable Lightness of Intellect at Moveon.Org"

From the thought provoking folks at the American Thinker Blog, there's this think piece by Rick Moran (forgive me for printing the entire piece without your permission):
How truly stupid can you be.

With nearly 70% of the American people basically on the side of the Iraq War debate, Moveon.Org has done surge supporters the biggest favor possible by making perhaps one of the biggest political goofs in recent memory.

The liberal group's ad in yesterday's New York Times sliming General Petraus has caused a monumnetal backlash against the left, causing even some of their most fervent supporters on the Hill to run for cover. And now the GOP, smelling blood, have introduced a measure condemning the Moveon ad and the organization itself for its smear tactics:

"The resolution, authored by Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), is cosponsored by 11 Republicans, including Reps. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.), the ranking member of the Armed Services Committee, and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), the ranking member of the Foreign Affairs panel.

“The despicable attack MoveOn.org launched against General Petraeus today should be condemned by all Members of Congress, including the Democratic leadership,” Boehner said. “I urge Members on both sides of the aisle to join in support of this resolution so the House speaks with one voice rejecting the character assassination tactics employed by this extremist group.”

What a Godsend to the Republicans. By focusing attention on the dirty tactics of the left, Democratic Congressmen who themselves were questioning General Petreaus's veracity yesterday must now tread more softly lest they too are lumped in with the loons from Moveon.Org.
It's imperative that the democrat presidential nominees all be asked if they will repudiate Moveon.org and return all contributions given to them by this anti-American organization.

The Face of Evil on 9/11

This famous photo was taken by Mark D Phillips and Snopes assures us it's not doctored in any way. This evil image pretty well says it all about the perpetrators of terror.

This is but one face of the enemy we confront on a daily basis and unfortunately he doesn't always manifest himself in such an overtly evil way. Maybe on this particular day, he just couldn't help himself.

Amateur Video of 9/11

There are scenes in this video you won't see on the network.

Brave Young Muslims

It takes brave souls like these to start a movement. They deserve international support and they'll need our prayers. Maybe the U.N. could do something right, for once, and lend a helping hand to these young men. On second thought, the U.N. would only make it worse for these brave hearts.

"The Perfect Day"

Glenn Beck is talking about what he is calling the "The Perfect Day." It's NOT going to be pretty and no one else is talking about what he is going to expose this week on his TV show beginning tonight on CNN Headline News. Hit the above link for the time.

The Islamofascists are planning on hitting some of our schools...grade schools where the girls are "old enough to rape, but the boys are too young to fight back." Nice stuff, huh?

Beck is going to lay it all out this week on his show. I think we all need to see and take heed what he's warning us.

McCain Says Dems Would Weaken America

The headline reads, "McCain Says Dems Would Weaken America." Ya think?

I've got a more accurate headline of my own; "McCain has already weakened America by siding with Dems so often in the past."

Remember McCain/Feingold? Remember all the times he opposed President Bush and sidled up to the likes of Ted Kennedy? Remember the gang of 14? Remember his stand on illegal immigration and amnesty?

McCain is right, of course, when he says the dems will weaken America, and I give him credit for backing the military and supporting the war against Islamofascists (imagine that...a senator who wants us to be victorious,) but he's done his share of damage to this country by siding with the dems way too often.

There was a time when he looked like a potential front runner. Now, he's fighting for his survival. Why? Because he stuck it to the conservative base time after time and conservatives knew all along that dems and rinos (republicans in name only) would weaken and have weakened America for far too long.
If he knew dems would weaken America, why did he side with them so often?

Quote for the upcoming week

A special hat tip to the good folks at Lucianne.com for this prescient quote from Robert E. Lee:
"It appears we have appointed our worst generals to command forces,
and our most gifted and brilliant to edit newspapers.
In fact, I discovered by reading newspapers that these editor/geniuses
plainly saw all my strategic defects from the start,
yet failed to inform me until it was too late.
Accordingly, I am readily willing to yield my command
to these obviously superior intellects, and I will, in turn,
do my best for the Cause by writing editorials - after the fact."

- Robert E. Lee, 1863

Was the Osama Tape A Forgery?

Do you think the recent Osama tape was a forgery or do you even care? Does it really matter one way or another? What if it was a fraud. Wouldn't it behoove our Intelligence Bureaus to go along with the fake so as to belie our own better judgement and let them believe they've outwitted us once again? Let them go ahead and think we're stupid and let us go ahead and think they are getting desperate. Whatever. The war wages on against the Islamofascists and may the good guys continue to root them out in ever greater numbers.

Jay, over at the Stop The ACLU Blog has some good perspectives on the fake/real dilemma, if in fact it is one. Check it out.

Mexican Trucks hit America's Highways

Like it or not, the Mexican Truckers are hitting the American highways:
Mexican trucks are rolling over the U.S. border, freely bound for anywhere in America, and it seems that nothing -- not furious Teamsters nor angry environmentalists, not even Congress -- can stop them.

Are the drivers properly licensed and sober or well-rested with the legal amount of down time? Do they speak English or understand U.S. road signs? Will the trucks be carrying illegal immigrants, drugs, terrorists, nuclear or biological weapons or other contraband? Will they belch tons of banned pollutants into America’s air? Will lower-paid Mexican drivers put American truckers out of work? Will the trucks gut the tax base which supports the U.S. highway infrastructure?

Frankly, no one knows. But, like it or not, the trucks are rolling. It’s a done deal.
Better start brushing up on your espanol!

The Shameful Embarrassment that is Chuck Schumer

If you didn't hear Schumer's treasonous rant against the military achievements in Iraq yesterday, then you need to do the next best thing and read what he had to say. Schumer is a leading voice for the democrats and no one is making a peep about his despicable comments (except, of course, on talk radio), which were made on the Senate floor yesterday. Sadly, the republicans are remissfully quiet about Schumer's outrageous comments as well. What's up with that, republicans? All y'all should be all over this! Relentlessly!

Learn about Schumer's disparaging comments at Maha Rushie's site.

Mark Levin broke this story last night, but he doesn't have transcripts like El Rushbo.

There are disgusting democrats and then there are despicable democrats who truly are domestic enemies. Senior Senator from New York, Charles Schumer, has to be one of the all time worst senators this country has ever had to endure. Shame on those who voted for him and shame on those who allow his recent comments to go unaccounted for. At the very least he owes the military, President Bush and the American people a very humble apology for his hateful and harmful words. Will Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid demand an apology? Will the republicans demand an apology? If not, why not?

It's about time some responsible republicans in congress take these repugnant democrats to task and call them on their onerous and unpatriotic behavior. They're eager to go after their own, but they are strangely silent when someone like Schumer egregiously attacks our troops.

What IS with that you weak-kneed, pusillanimous capitol hill republicans?

Here's Schumer's contact information; why don't you drop him a line or better yet, a phone call. I hear his phone has been ringing off the wall.

Drudge Leaving the Airwaves?

According to Brian Maloney over at The Radio Equalizer, Matt Drudge's last Sunday night radio show will be broadcast on September 30th. So far, not a word from Drudge.

I can't believe he's been on the air for ten years already. I was a pretty faithful listener as late Sunday nights determine what the next news cycle is going to offer. He did good for a neophyte radio guy and I hate to see him leave the airwaves.

Attention: Presidential candidates and Congressmen

A quote to remember from the First Inaugural Address of Ronaldus Magnus in 1981, courtesy of Consent Of The Governed:
"We are a nation that has a government—not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the Earth. Our government has no power except that granted it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government, which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed."

The 88th Carnival Of Homeschooling

There are a lot of really good home school blogs out there and Consent Of The Governed is one of them. It so happens they are hosting the 88th Carnival of Homeschooling.

The kids who are fortunate enough to be home schooled today are the engineers, scientists, teachers, business and political leaders of tomorrow, so take a few minutes to see what they are learning today.

Yes, they will probably have to teach their government schooled subordinates and employees of the future to read, write and think for themselves, but it's all part of being an educated and motivated leader.

Lead on, my fellow home schoolers!

Davy Crockett; Ya gotta love him!

The Texas Historical Commission has purchased Davy Crockett's last written words, which consist of a letter to his daughter and son-in-law written just two months before heroically giving his life for Texas. In the letter he extolled the virtues of what would become the Great State of Texas:
AUSTIN -
Just two months before he perished while defending the Alamo, Davy Crockett gave his daughter and son-in-law a peek at the land he treasured enough to die for its independence.

"I must say as to what I have seen of Texas it is the garden spot of the world," the famed frontiersman and former congressman from Tennessee wrote. "The best land and the best prospect for health I even saw is here ..."

The Texas Historical Commission announced Tuesday it has purchased the letter, the last one Crockett penned before he and about 200 other Alamo defenders were killed by Mexican forces led by Gen. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna.

Gov. Rick Perry accepted the letter on behalf of the state during a brief ceremony Tuesday afternoon at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.

"He stood tall against overwhelming odds and he refused to run away," Perry said of Crockett. "...It's clear that he cherished his principles above his life and died nobly in their defense."

The state bought the letter for $490,000 from Simpson Galleries, a Houston fine arts auctioneer.

Ray Simpson said his grandfather bought the letter from a descendant of Crockett's in 1986 and misplaced it years ago. Simpson said he and his father found it about two weeks ago in their office.

The document likely could have sold for a much higher price in an open auction, Simpson said, but the family wanted to offer it to Texas first. They also knocked off $60,000 from the originally agreed upon purchase price of $550,000.

"Our family is very, very proud to have made this document available for the state commission to own," Simpson said.

State officials plan to eventually put the letter on display, but they have not decided when or where that will happen, Texas Historical Commission Chairman John Nau said.

The neatly scripted letter was dated Jan. 9, 1836, and was written from San Augustine, about 150 miles north of modern-day Houston. According to the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, it was addressed to his daughter Margaret and her husband, Wiley Flowers. Crockett arrived at the Alamo a month later and died in the siege the month after that.

In the note, Crockett described his "handy welcome" to Texas with a dinner and cannon fire. He said he expected to settle "on the Bodark or Choctaw bayou," which the Texas Historical Commission said is near modern-day Bonham, about 65 miles north of Dallas.

"I would rather be in my present situation than to be elected to a seat in Congress for life," he said.

God bless the memory of Davy Crockett and God bless Texas!

Bend Over, America!

Calderon: "Mexico does not end at its borders"

Thanks to Curt over at Flopping Aces for this one...you're really not going to believe this so you need to see it:
MEXICO CITY — President Felipe Calderon blasted U.S. immigration policies on Sunday and promised to fight harder to protect the rights of Mexicans in the U.S., saying "Mexico does not end at its borders."

The criticism earned Calderon a standing ovation during his first state-of-the nation address.

"We strongly protest the unilateral measures taken by the U.S. Congress and government that have only persecuted and exacerbated the mistreatment of Mexican undocumented workers," he said. "The insensitivity toward those who support the U.S. economy and society has only served as an impetus to reinforce the battle ... for their rights."

He also reached out to the millions of Mexicans living in the United States, many illegally, saying: "Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico."
Excuse me!!!!! Hello!!! Anyone out there???? President Bush, did you see this article? Are you aware of what your compadre down south is saying? Will there be a comeback in the next 12 hours or so and if not why not?

Is there any wonder why people are apoplectic at President Bush's inaction to build the fence?

At what point do we apologize to the conspiracy theorists?

Be sure to read the rest of the above linked piece...it will make you even crazier!

A Couric Admission

I'm almost embarrassed to spend any time whatsoever on Ms. Couric's observations in Iraq because she and her agenda are so predictable, but I thought this quote was entertainingly telling: "Couric Admits Her Rosy Report From Iraq Is Based On ‘What The U.S. Military Wants Me To See."

Allow me to translate: it's exactly opposite of what she was hoping to see!

Good ol' CBS and their objective reporting!

Rethinking "Organically Grown" Produce

I'm all for buying "organic" whenever possible and affordable and I don't put all that much credence in government certified anything, but when it comes to buying foods organically grown in China, well, for me and mine, forget it. That goes for organically grown in Mexico, or South America as well. In fact, we buy very few agricultural products grown in Mexico or South America and none that are grown in China (that I know of, anyway).

Why is that, you might ask? It's because of unhygienic production and processing of produce. Just because you can buy it in any given store, doesn't mean it's fit for human (or even animal) consumption.

So, we try to buy as close to home as possible.

We love fish, but China is processing mega tons of fish these days and the packaging and processing conditions have reportedly been abysmal.

Yeah, we're pretty spoiled over here. We like things clean. We like it when food handlers wash their hands after going potty. I'm not sure they do that everywhere. I'm not even sure they do it here, but at least our growers and food handlers are schooled in what American consumers demand...clean food, whether it's organic or not.

I don't know exactly what all is going on politically between China and our politicos, but China has been exposed for exporting all kinds of substandard stuff and how are we to know fact from fiction when food processed there makes it to our local stores?

It just makes sense to buy as local as possible. Visit your Farmers Market if you have one nearby. So what if it cost a little more. They're your neighbors!

UPDATE: China vows to clean up toxins amid food scares.

Socialism 101

The left isn't even attempting to hide the fact that they are raging socialists anymore; they're just letting it all hang out. The most recent proof is Edward's universal health care which, among other things, will mandate doctor visits. If they're going to tell you when to go the doctor, they sure as hell are going to tell you what you can and can't eat, drink, smoke, drive, etc, etc, ad infinitum, ad nauseum. And that's just for starters.

Wake up, democrats! Do you want these hypocrites mandating how you live your life? You wanted the government out of your wombs; how about keeping them out of every other orifice!

THE Definitive Piece on Sen. Craig and the Culture of Corruption

Thankfully, nothing more will need to be said and or written about the sleazy bathroom mannerisms of Larry Craig, because Mark R. Levin has written the quintessential piece which says it all about the culture of corruption extant in Washington DC. Too be sure, that culture pervades the entire country, to one extent or another, but there is no escaping it within the Beltway.

By all means read Levin's commentary and let's try to get that "shoe touching, wide stance" visual out of our minds once and for all. Yuck!
