American Totalitarians, Pussilanimous Politicians and Wallbuilders
There was some good reading out there today. It's almost tomorrow and if you missed these and don't feel like reading, print 'em out, but be sure to read them.
First off, Dennis Prager tells us how to identify American totalitarians. It's a good reminder that in your face do gooders who force their "good" intentions on society have the makings of polit-bureau pinko commies. Well, Prager is a bit more articulate and way more convincing.
But if you don't read anything else, please read Shelby Steele's White Guilt and the Western Past. Rush rightly spent a great deal of time talking about this important piece today. It answers alot of questions about Post Modern Western Civilization and why those who are hobbled by this destructive guilt are taking this country down. The bad news is, it's affecting decision makers on both sides of the isle.
Read the whole thing. It's illuminating.
Ah, yes, one more piece which has to do with the big May Day demonstrations.
Did the demonstrators win over the American people? Are we more sympathetic now that commerce (a minimum amount, really) was thwarted or are Joe and Jane Sixpack fairly fed up with illegals demanding the rights of American citizens?
James Pinkerton wrote a good piece titled, Wall builders are winning the debate. Cowardly politicians need to wake up. Private citizens are going to make a wall with or with out the help of government. Here's a little of what Pinkerton has to say:

"Diversity" might be nice in theory, but, in practice, differences are the gateway to conflict.
Moreover, as larger numbers of people come here from Latin America, the likelihood that Latin-style politics will be imported rises, too. The left-wing demagogue Hugo Chávez is popular in Venezuela, and others like him are winning elections across the Southern Hemisphere. Closer to our border, Mexico is legalizing the possession of substantial quantities of drugs - not just marijuana, but cocaine, heroin and Ecstasy. Do most Americans want to import those sorts of values into their country?
The answer, we now can see, is "no," even "hell no." The forces of immigration control - the folks who want to build a wall - are winning the political debate. The challenge now is to convert political victory into policy action. That means repealing bilingualism, multiculturalism and ethnic preferences, so that every American, regardless of color, can get an equal shot at the American Dream, if he or she plays by a fair set of rules.
